God’s Whispers

The more I teach and coach people, the less I want to give life lessons in my free time. One could say all the right words, but sometimes it’s not words that are needed. I have no idea how you’re supposed to live, and I don’t know what you’re supposed to think or do. I’m here just to share my story—to be a light for those who want to get warm.

When all hell broke loose, I started self-reflection journaling. Now you can go to my private blog and see my struggles, raw and unfiltered. There, you can share yours too. It’s a safe space for those who are tired of their own masks and polished images.

When I recognized some powerful strongholds in my journal notes, I started writing and recording my own prayers. Now you can go to my YouTube channel and listen to some original, sometimes even poetic, Christian prayers. Self-reflection is great, but it won’t lead you far without Jesus.

For two years, I’ve been dealing with betrayal, addiction, financial losses, and grief. Now I offer existential coaching services for those who believe there’s no way out for them. I’ve come back from places where most people don’t get out alive. I know there’s always a way out. All the links are in bio.

My mom could never understand why I was more accepting and forgiving towards my dad than her. From her point of view, she was more present and involved in my life, whereas my dad was somewhat "passive, absent, and carefree." My mother made judgments based on actions and practical things. However, what determined my attitude towards my dad was not the quantity of his actions, but their quality. And although my dad was never perfect and seemed to fail my mom's standards, the way he showed up in our father-daughter relationship shaped my overall positive view of men.So, here are 3 simple things he did that I find more nurturing and important than practical things:

💗He never kept scoreOne of the things that made me feel worthy of love and help is the fact that my father gave or did something without expecting anything in return. He had enough dignity and respect for himself to never brag about it or use it in his own favor. When he did something, even if it was a small thing, it felt special because I was seen not as a role or an object, but as a human being. This experience has made me refuse to agree to anything less than a genuine connection and not tolerate people who approach relationships in a business-like manner. Unconditional love is my daddy’s lesson #1.

💗Calm & consistent

What I loved about my dad is that I always knew how he would respond or behave in any particular situation. It communicated safety while the rest of the world was going crazy. Being a highly sensitive person with a mercurial mind, I always found imperturbability quite important. It helped me to stabilize and slow down. It also showed me that the relationships I’m looking for are built on consistency, not emotions.

💗“You’re beautiful”

I could be in the middle of doing something, and suddenly he would say, “Kristin, you’re so beautiful!” It’s hard to describe, but to me, those words didn’t sound like a cliché; they carried a fresh perspective mixed with genuine surprise. It’s the same way when I go for a walk and see beauty even in trivial things. To me, the ability to recognize beauty was a sure sign that there was something of God in a person. Now, when my dad is gone, looking in the mirror and hearing those words, I know that he’s somewhere safe.For far too long, my mom has been interfering with my dad and stealing the joy of being with him, but I’m glad I’ve claimed back my right to define who my dad was. At the end of the day, it’s about my experience and feelings.And to all fathers out there, you might be the most horrible person and still be a perfect dad for your kids. Don’t let other people decide what kind of parent you were. Your kid’s attitude is all that matters.

Loan refinancing is one of my major goals at the moment. I took this loan last year being under a huge stress of trying to save my father from his alchohol addiction, dealing with the betrayal of my family of origin and my own professional crisis as well as trying to buy an appartment. Taking into account the fact that I was self-employed and we were going through an economic crisis, I didn't have very many good options. Well, in fact, I had none. So, I took a loan with a high interest rate. This month I've realised I put on a heavy load on my shoulders, and I need to refinance it.
