Welcome to The Eclectic Beard, a reaction focused channel exploring comedy, culture, sports and moments from around the world.
This channel is dedicated to reaction content, with an emphasis on:
Comedy (classics and modern)
Cultural Moments and comparisons
Sports reactions (football, cricket, rugby, AFL, and more)
Cultural comparisons of the UK, Europe, Australia, etc against the culture of the US.
Reactions are presented with commentary, as many belly laughs as possible, and perspective. They aren't simply watch alongs.
If you're here for reactions, you're in the right place.

My wife went to a store earlier this evening (wtf it's 1:38 am so yesterday evening? I don't know I fell asleep) locally called World Market and asked if I wanted anything. The place had tea cakes, Jammie Dodger, Jaffa's, digestives and other British foods. All I asked for was crumpets which they didn't have. She was keen on digestives but I told her not to worry about those unless she was getting some Yorkshire Gold to have them with. I should've just told her to grab a bit of each but looks like I'll be putting in an order somewhere for some crumpets and other goodies in the near future. I asked for crumpets and now I've definitely got them on the brain.

So as much as I'd love to have more original content on the channel, it's quite apparent that due to the fact that it's not as well received on the channel as the reactions (I mean rightfully so, you come here for reactions, not experimentation unless it's related to the content I normally put out in some way).
I'm going to be moving original content that's not reaction related at all (Discovering Warhammer) to a channel I've converted specifically for it. I'll be moving Discovering Warhammer over to that channel, and everything for that series will start being on there.
The series the Glitch was just the reactor side of me and the creative side fighting since the reactor side wants to keep doing things that are "safe" on the channel... ie... reactions.. over creatively scripting out or presenting content that's either adjacent or completely original (also one of the reasons I started a production company with my brother) and it was to end with an understanding that both sides of me are necessary and more original content being pushed forward.
One of the things I will still attempt going forward will be more of the choose your own reaction type videos where as with the You Pick the Reaction it will have links you can click on in the end screen, pinned comment and description, to choose the reaction you want to see, a kind of choose your own adventure type of idea (too many just commented instead of picking the link). I think that's still a creative way to present reactions themselves.
The new channel is Eclectic Beard Productions. Outside of the Discovering Warhammer series, I'll be using it as a place to test out different scripting ideas using live action and over top of gaming video (going to try to at the very least line things up on that), testing pacing, tone, and narrative effects for possible projects in the future on the channel or for Bearded Brothers Productions.
Speaking of Bearded Brothers Productions, I'll be announcing a channel for it just after new year. I'll do cross promotion through posts on here for those that are interested. I'll say this, regardless of numbers on YouTube, this is where we're going to be trying to build a community for the stuff we put out, we'll be pushing our productions once finished to places like Film Hub, Tubi, and other platforms as well.
So going forward, 100% of the content on here, unless it's a hybrid reaction/ essay type of video doing a comparative look at something UK or Europe vs the US, will be strictly reaction content. Some of you enjoy the original content, which I appreciate but Youtube has 0 clue of where to put it on a channel that's 99.99999% reaction and therefore, those of you who enjoy it may only find it later, and there's no push outside of the community for it. It's almost dead in the water algorithmically and that's more soul crushing than a wholesale rejection since those I at least get comments on why it's not enjoyed.
That said, I will be moving reactions from that channel (reactions to Netherlands, France cultural things) to this channel so those aren't entirely lost and those that didn't see them since they were on a separate channel might be able to see them. Everything that was on that channel is being wiped away so it can be restarted fresh.

Today I'll be recording (already have a few videos to edit) on Brits and Europeans in the US, Americans in the UK and Europe (and just globally), funny videos in general, funny British tik tok videos, reddit US Defaultism and Shit Americans say, and videos in that vein. I have some more sports videos I plan on recording over the next few days (rules of hurling, rules of gaelic football, Australian Rules big hits and highlights, Cricket bowlers and batters) and original content as well.

Just as a matter of curiosity, who would be interested in a reaction to reels or tik toks that make me laugh hysterically?

Just as an update on things going on.
Firstly, this weekend on Sunday the 2nd episode of Discovering Warhammer 40k: Learning to Play| Part 1. Next Wednesday will be 4th of the 6 episodes for The Glitch. I put those on the back burner while I got over the ear infections. Also this coming week will be some behind the scenes or early looks what me and my bro (and nephew) have been working that at the moment is known as Project Wilder that will turn into a paranormal/horror/ surreal/ mystery series.
Second, I’ll be pulling content from my other reaction channel where I was putting reactions to other cultures (Netherlands and France mostly) to reupload them here and pretty well deleting all videos on that channel. I’ll be converting it into an experimentation channel where I test out scripts, beats, pacing, editing and other aspects related to creation as a whole. I’ll be testing the ideations via gaming backdrops, singular character short videos or scripting ideas from the first thought phase to eventual live action permeations or simply just using the comments from the productions there to improve. Literally an experimental channel. It’ll be separate from Bearded Brothers Productions but I will definitely use lessons learned from there in the larger productions. Eventually there will be a dedicated channel for Bearded Brothers Productions as well.
Third, I’ve done everything I can reaction wise on this channel to not go full on bland vanilla low hanging fruit easy stuff. I’ve been doing this for 6 years. I have a handful of reactions to stuff like WILTY, 8 out of 10 Cats, and QI and its only a handful that Ive been able to get on that weren’t full out blocked. I’m no longer in a position of wanting to touch anything reaction wise from BBC, Channel 4 or IPTV. Unless its old and not a sacred old cow, I refuse to touch anything from them anymore. I’ve been so pissed for the last 3 years over stuff I can’t seem to get on that others do that I’ve sabotaged myself at times due to it. So if you notice more UK vs US, compilations, Americans Dont understand, Reddit, Tik Tok, sports and seemingly subject matter I’ve left to others, it’s because instead of fighting and getting discouraged and then self sabotaging by going we’re doing this that or the other instead of what works on this channel now, I’m working with what will make it onto the channel.
Lastly, I’m constantly still trying to improve, keep your trust with the content I put out while seeing what else may interest you, learn and grow as a person and a creator. There is so much I still need to work on, finish and improve. I appreciate the comments, support and continued interest in myself and the channel. Much love and thanks.

Ok, so I've previously stated that I wouldn't be doing anymore of the Reddit type Dumb things Americans say videos. However, I've been asked about it a few times and had folks comment that they enjoyed them. It's not that I didn't enjoy doing them, some of the commentary, I'll admit, got me a bit more than they should have and instead of just hearting and moving on, I responded in kind. We're going to try again. Also, going to add a few more things other than reddit as much as possible since every social media outlet winds up with much different views and responses amongst all of them. If I wind up doing stuff like reacting to tiktoks I'll be compiling them together and every one of them will have links to the original posters on tik tok so if you want to go watch more of their posts, you'll be able to do so.

Well, the Romash reaction was good while it lasted I guess. It was blocked after upload, the copyright claimant took longer than 48 hours to respond so I was able to at least make it public for a while and now, the dispute rejected, it's blocked again.

Currently editing a video (yesterday's attempt was blocked) that has me considering a subscription to GAA+ for 2026.

Finally in a spot to put headphones back on and get some things done. Original content such as The Glitch and Discovering Warhammer 40k will start again on Sunday. I have some things that I was able to record earlier today that I'm going to try to start editing to schedule out.

Who else has looked at their YouTube wrap for 2025? Wasn’t too surprised with mine.
