I am a former African American and African history college instructor. My YouTube content is a marriage between my academic knowledge, lived experience, and societal observations as a Black woman. As the author of two books, I highlight topics that are not widely discussed. I also provide cultural commentary from the perspective of a contemporary Black woman.
My media business, Curated Legacy LLC, helps aspiring YouTube content creators to get started and grow. If you are interested in my speaking, coaching and/or consulting services, please reach out to me on Instagram @nnekaonyilofor or go to: nnekaonyilofor.com.

Hey everyone ππΎ. I just want to review some housekeeping rules to address repeating themes that I see in my comment sections. Most of these concerns are from women.
1. I exclusively talk about Black women on this channel. There is no need to mention "that other people/races do it too". Although I am aware that "other people do it", I do not make content about those other people or races. Just Black people/women/the Black community (which depending on context, I could be talking about the Black diaspora and/or U.S. Black people).
2. I am a one woman show (for now). It is impossible for me to address every single angle of an issue in one video. However, I do have over 440 videos that may mention what you are looking for.Β
3. I always welcome constructive criticism.
4. Special shout out to my new Black & Invisible channel Members ππΎππΎππΎ! Becoming a channel member is a great way to support this channel. It gives you various perks, including, access to exclusive channel members-only videos:Β

5. Finally, I am running several series on my channel, so keep a look out for your favorite. In the meantime, check out my latest upload about YouTube, Social Media & Celebrity Culture ππΎ:

"Your new life is going to cost you your old one. It's going to cost you your comfort zone and your sense of direction. It's going to cost you relationships & friends. It's going to cost you being liked and understood.
It doesn't matter. The people who are meant for you are going to meet you on the other side. You're going to build a new comfort zone around the things that actually move you forward.
Instead of being liked, you're going to be loved. Instead of being understood, you're going to be seen. All you are going to lose is what was build for a person you no longer are.
Remaining attached to your old life is the first and final act of self-sabotage and releasing it is what we must prepare for to truly be willing to see real change."
Chapter 2, "The Mountain Is You", book by Brianna Wiest

To all the Ladies (only) who are here, please vote on the behavior of your fellow sisters. Which behavior is the biggest red flag π© to you?
You are also welcome to leave a comment if the behavior is a yellow flag to you β οΈ (depends on context), or a green flag β (not a big deal). Feel free to write your response here.
Your answers will help shape an upcoming collab on my channel ππΎ.

One thing about me, I am going to introspect. I also have been enjoying the beautiful fall scenery ππ, along with long walks (and occasional 3 mile runs ππΎββοΈ), through my neighborhood.
I recently spent part of the day working on my third book. Before I started writing, I delivered this message about Black women:

To anyone who wants to learn what it looks and sounds like to take personal accountability, you should read this book (swipe to see it). I am listening to it for the second time on Audible, because it is just that good.

To everyone who has been supportive of my bare face in my latest YouTube videosβ¦thank you! As a busy mom and wife with a full-time job, wearing no makeup in my videos has made content creation much more possible.
Also, βThe Covered Seriesβ is back and yes, it is awkward lol. I canβt promise you that it will get any less awkward, because there are some things that we need to address about Black love/marriage.

I have gone back and forth over the years with regard to if I should capitalize the word βBlackβ. There are reasons why I think this word should be capitalized, however, I also observe that a lot of people do not capitalize it. I can understand both sides of this choice.
I am curious what you think about this? Do you capitalize this word? Please state why or why not.
Side note: Did anyone else see Dave Chappelle last week in D.C.?
