Alot of people have asked me to provide input on how law enforcement agencies get "Accredited "in Florida. As a retired Deputy that oversaw the Palm Bay PD 2023 Accreditation process, or should I say, AccrediFAKEtion process I will be breaking down the process using a letter that I submitted to the Commission providing 30 standards that were not met. Just to name a couple; a crime scene tech locks her 9-year-old son in the department's computer forensics office while she responded to process a crime scene. He was found after he grabbed a radio and transmitted on our primary channels. No investigation, no discipline. The police chief violated veterans' preferences in hiring a logistics manager by ordering his commander to hire a certain person, "no matter what the outcome of the interviews." He later will tell another commander to hire his son's girlfriend to an open property and evidence position. He would later break a client/patient relationship and "appoint" an unlicensed mental health therapist to work directly for him as the agencies' "Wellness Coordinator" violating her code of ethics. I even provided the commission a picture of a pregnant female, in handcuffs, being struck by Ofc. Rollins, with their AccrediFAKEtion sticker plastered in the background.
I asked to speak on behalf of the Palm Bay Police Department at their commission hearing, but my invitation didn't arrive in time.
The AccrediFAKEtion process is cops protecting cops while getting free pay, free food, and free vacations. The cop that protects an agency today will get that same level of protection tomorrow when it's time for their AccrediFAKEtion.
