Hi I'm Jacqie!
I'm an IVF mom in my 30s, who loves vlogging my real life while I share thoughts about books I'm currently reading.
I love reading psychological thrillers, dark memoirs, moral dilemmas, and I'm starting to dip my toes into historical fiction. I own a little free library that I keep stocked full of books, drink a ton of coffee, and stay at home with my daughter. I borrow most of my books from the library or use Libby to listen to audiobooks or read on my kindle.
I keep a clean home and absolutely love organizing. I have a Culinary Arts degree and really enjoy cooking things from scratch, especially comfort foods. I started doing toy rotations for my daughter when she was about 9 months old, and I also want to homeschool in the future. I'd love for you to subscribe as I share my life as a first time mom.

Sorry everyone, vlogs will be coming back soon! My camera breaking really messed up my vibe - my new canon powershot v1 is coming tomorrow, fingers crossed! For now, I'm vlogging on my new insta360 go ultra (and my phone), but I just haven't found my groove with having a different camera. Who knew that I'd be so flustered with new cameras, after 7 years of vlogging on the canon g7x mark ii. I'm currently editing the last few days of footage, but I probably won't be able to get it out until tomorrow. After that, I'm hoping my new canon is similar to my g7x and I can get back into my same filming and editing groove daily.

Today would have been my due date with baby #2. I'm proud of myself for being 37lbs down naturally, gaining muscle, and knowing that God had other plans for me this year (including growing my bakery way faster than I could have imagined). At times I'm sad that we aren't welcoming a new addition to our family, especially with Alice asking for a sibling almost every day, but this year has been one of the best years of my life, and for that, I'm grateful.
While I was at the gym for my body pump class this morning, I reminisced how I used to not be able to do any pushups, I started with the lowest 2.2lb weights possible, and dreamed of looking like some of the stronger women in the class. Now here I am, not even a year later (more like 6 months of consistency because of being pregnant in the spring), using 30lbs of weight, doing many pushups, ab workouts, and consistently going to the gym 4 days if not more. If you would have ever asked me years prior, I'd say I hated exercising. But now, I look forward to my 1 hour classes (I couldn't even workout 5 minutes at home before giving up), and I'm so proud of how far I've come, and how much discipline I've had to be able to get closer to my goals. I still have a goal weight I'm heading for, and then after I reach that, I'll think about starting ivf at the end of next year. But at least I'll be a healthier and stronger mom for Alice and my future kids. βΊοΈπͺ
Once I get to my goal weight, I'll officially show my full before and after with the same angles. It's CRAZY the difference. I think I've lost alot more than 37lbs of fat, because of all my weight lifting at body pump. If you've ever gone, you know those workouts are no joke with the weight repetitions. Lol pictures below are me at 215, my highest weight not including being pregnant, and now 178lb.

FYI my vlogging camera died after a good 7 years :( I'm vlogging on my phone until my new camera shows up in a few days, but I might be behind on footage for a bit.

I've been waiting to post a weight loss update photo until I officially reached a big milestone, but I hit 28.2lbs down today so I'm almost halfway to goal (started at 215 and now I'm 186.8, my goal I have at 155). This is the very first time in my life I'm not just losing weight, but also building muscle and getting fit. I get 10-12k steps at least a day, but also go to ymca classes 4-5 days a week for an hour workout. 2 of those days are body pump (barbell class), 2 are mixxed fit (cardio/dance), and when I'm not doing a market Saturday mornings I go to body combat (kickboxing/hiit). I absolutely love mixxed fit for the fun music and high energy, but body pump is what has really been changing my body physically. I've gone up in weights once, and I'm about to go up again which is just so encouraging! I can finally see myself getting lean and having muscle definition, which is just so rewarding.
Last summer I was the fattest I have ever been, and I was just so discouraged postpartum, having low energy/no motivation, and feeling like I was going to be that size forever. What changed for me, was honestly the ymca and finding classes I actually looked forward to going. I cannot work out at home, I have zero motivation, but going to the ymca and having a group class and amazing instructors to keep you motivated, it's a game changer for sure.
Working out is only part of my progress. I also watch what I eat and focus on protein and fiber. Most of my bread is my homemade fresh milled, which has more nutrients, protein and fiber than store bought. I can't wait to see what I'll look like in a few more months time!

I'm going to be behind a little with daily vlogs because yesterday I spent 14 hours baking all of this for the farmers market today! I also have company over this weekend, and cookbook club tonight. Vlogs will be back on Sunday!
