Suyla Polat was born in 2005 in İstanbul/Turkey. She started playing the guitar at the age of 4 under her father, Haşim Polat's mentorship. She went to half-time Mimar Sinan Conservatory in 5th grade to work with Ozan Sezener. She started her full-time music education in Bilkent Music and Performing Arts Middle School in 8th grade (2017), and continued there until 11th grade with Kağan Korad before getting accepted to the Yehudi Menuhin School in 2021. Currently, she is studying with Richard Wright in the Yehudi Menuhin School.
Suyla Polat has studied with many important guitarists such as Leo Brouwer, Pavel Steidl, Zoran Dukic, and Tilman Hoppstock. She has also actively taken part in Volos, Istanbul, İTÜ, Cyprus, and Iserlohn guitar festivals. She has given many concerts in places such as Marmara University, Bilkent Concert Hall, Yehudi Menuhin concert hall, and Rahmi Koç Museum, and has recently won first prize in the Ankara Guitar Competition 26 and under age category.
