Over the past year of being on YouTube, we've met so many content creators through different networking events and learned that so much $$$ is being left on the table. Why?

Because the average content creator does not have oversight over their own traffic and data when sharing sponsorship and affiliate links.

Brands are smart and say "oh hey creator, here is your sponsorship link, put this in your YouTube description... or your newsletter, post, etc."

But THEY get all the data, and you as a creator are massively missing out on the most important information (your campaign performance).

After the Honey Scam video came out, it became obvious that this is an even a bigger problem (watch ‪@MegaLag‬ 's video if you missed it!).

So we wanted to put together a video where we share how easy it is to properly set up link tracking software and why it's crucial that every creator needs to start doing this in 2025 👀

When Alex Bass and I first met, one of the things we connected over was Zapier.

And I said "Hell yeah I do!"

Our latest video blew up 🙈 The comment section is as we expected — a mixture of business folks agreeing with the sentiment, while others (mainly individual users) coming to Notion's defense ⚔️🤺

Our channel is focused on B2B software reviews so this is who we are addressing in all of our content. If you are an individual, paying $0 for Notion, and getting a ton of out the app, we think that makes a ton of sense! If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

However, for BUSINESSES or TEAMS — is Notion the best tool? In our opinion, no.

We've gotten dozens of personal messages about this video with teams saying they tried to "put everything in Notion" and it fell apart within <6 months. Teams like to reference Notion, but not use it for everything.

We've been consulting/implementing software for over a decade, and this video is a combination of many private conversations we've had with dozens, if not hundreds of customers. We still get emails on a regular basis with teams saying "I tried Notion but it made our team crazy, help!"

So in our opinion purpose built tools are almost always better.
