Cars suck but bikes rule, Ex no. 347: billions in infrastructure to build a freeway that is still gridlocked, flattened homes, financially drains us, takes space from communities, causes crashes, and requires parking that's better used to store bread. Then there's me in a bike with my roller blades in my backpack, enjoying riding, getting exercise, and costing next to nothing to ride.

Beautiful: evening sky over LA. Not beautiful: all that wasted infrastructure devoted to cars and not people - parking spots, driveways, wide streets. A parking lot where there should be housing, and homeless people camped out. And the aftermath of a car on motorcycle crash. I love LA but si much of it is virtually unwalkable. Walk around your neighborhood or job and talk to people about how the walking experience could be improved!

Shameless: a homeless bum, probably on drugs, sleeping on a public bench. Notice the sunglasses - there to protect his dilated pupils from the sun. The open mouth is a clear sign of anti-social behavior. And long hair - a hippy. This bench has hostile architecture for a reason, and the amount of pain killers this criminal must be on to sleep here would knock out a buffalo. And reading a library book, the ultimate in communist and/or anti-American activities. If you see this vagrant, DO NOT APPROACH!!
