The Sangeet Natak Akademi has been developing a new regional centre in Hyderabad, Dakshin Bharat Sanskritik Kendra, which will house an auditorium named Bharat Kala Mandapam, dedicated to the legendary singer Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao. Located at the CCRT Campus, Madhapur, the centre was inaugurated in February 2024, during which the foundation stone of the auditorium was also laid, in recognition of Ghantasala’s immense contribution to South Indian cultural heritage.

Yesterday, Dr Sandhya Purecha, Chairperson, Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Shri Raju Das, Secretary, Sangeet Natak Akademi, along with Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant, Member, Executive Board, Sangeet Natak Akademi, and Smt Deepika Reddy, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee and former Chairperson, Telangana Sangeet Natak Akademi, visited the auditorium to review and inspect the ongoing development works.
