Hi! I'm Felix Brodbeck and I'm a Webflow developer and digital designer. On my Youtube channel I share my knowledge about UI/UX, Webflow Development and Creative Business.
When redesigning their website, many SaaS companies forget the most important question:
⁉️
👉 What goal do you actually want to achieve and how can the design support it?
Unfortunately, I often see people being talked into fancy redesigns without being told how difficult it will be to make adjustments later.
For most SaaS marketing teams, however, one of the fundamental goals is missed:
❌ Updating the website itself without tech support.
❌ Adding a new section to existing pages
❌ Creating new landing pages quickly and easily.
What many do not know is that design has a major impact on how well these things work.
If the design is too complicated, self-updating will not work. The result:
❌ You will need a designer to revise the concept and
❌ A developer to implement it.
👇
This will significantly slow you down.
🤔 In my opinion, a SaaS website should do exactly the opposite:
✅ The website should speed up your marketing processes and not slow them down.
But how do you do it right?
✅ Start with wireframes and plan the page content properly.
✅ Use best practices for design and focus on clear structures.
✅ Identify the 4-5 most important sections (e.g. hero homepage, feature section, call-to-action section) and consider how to highlight them with design and animations. The goal is to guide the user's focus, not distract their attention.
What was it like during your last redesign? Did you follow these things or fall into the trap of having a too fancy website?
Today #Webflow announced to integrate AI in their platform.
🥱 🖥️
With this integration, users can expect to see increased efficiency and cost savings as AI will automate tasks that were previously time-consuming and labor-intensive. This will free up designers to focus on more creative aspects of web design, ultimately resulting in better overall design quality.
At the beginning, the AI will provide rather specific tips and instructions, for example, to center a headline. But in my opinion, this is just the beginning.
Personally, I am both curious and skeptical. How will our society change? How will professions develop? Will many disappear? How will people earn money in the future? Or will it even be necessary because the AI generates value and pays taxes for it?
Webflow now supports the dotLottie file format, which is more efficient than the traditional Lottie JSON files.
With dotLottie, you can upload whole animations in a single compressed file, which downloads faster and uses less bandwidth. Plus, you can embed images directly into the file, so you don't have to worry about uploading additional files.
This means quicker load times for your visitors and a smoother, more seamless design experience for everyone. Upgrade to dotLottie in Webflow today and see the difference for yourself!
