Tonight begins Yom Kippur - the holiest day in the Jewish calendar. This past year has tested the Jewish people in ways I never imagined. And yet… it has also shown me unbelievable unity. Jews across the world, from every background, have stood together, supported each other, and reminded me what true resilience looks like. As I enter this Yom Kippur, I’m thinking about: • The power of community. • The responsibility we have to stand up for one another. • And how our values guide not just our faith, but also how we live, work, and build for the future. May this year bring strength, safety, prosperity, and peace to all of us. May we continue to stand united because when we do, nothing can break us.

Last night’s shooting happened just blocks from my office.

This tragedy took place at 345 Park Avenue - Midtown Manhattan - during evening hours.

So I want to send my deepest gratitude to the NYPD - especially to Officer Islam and those who continue to serve fearlessly.

You show up when we need it most.
You give us protection.
You give us courage.
And you give us hope.

Even as the noise and loathing grows - “Free Palestine” chants, workplace threats, social media misinformation - the NYPD continues to stand with us.

We stand with them in return.

I offer my deepest condolences to the families of the fallen.
May the memories of Officer Islam, Wesley LePatner, Aland Etienne, and the Rudin Management employee be a blessing.

And may this also serve as a reminder: silence isn’t enough.

We must stay loud.
We must stay vigilant.
We must stay united.
