I was 13 years old and I remember creeping into my mums room to tear up a photo she took of me a week before. I had sleepless nights knowing it existed because, after all, it was just MORE concrete evidence of how ugly I was! It was evidence that the "mean girls" in my school were right! I was ridiculed and called concord for how big my nose was. I was mocked for how flat my chest was. They called me Goofy for my buck teeth. So the laaaaaast thing I wanted was for the photo to be lying around!
This was 1992, and I would cry myself to sleep wishing I was different. Wishing I looked and was as pretty as the celebrity models...
Cut to 33 years later (& 20 years of building my confidence), and let me tell you something:
I love my nose. It's mine, itâs bold, and it makes a statement.
I celebrate my small boobs, because letâs be real, no bra in your 40s is an actual superpower đ
And those buck teeth? Fixed them. But the real fix was how I saw myself.
Confidence isnât built overnight. But it is built.
And every time you choose self-love over shame, you're laying another brick.
You donât need to change who you are.
You need to learn to OWN who you are. Fully, loudly, and without apology!!!

Have you ever faced something so unexpected that it made you question everything? Your instincts, your reality, even your relationship?
This week on Women of Impact, I sat down with Emma Heming Willis: model, author, and founder of Make Time Wellness. Sheâs also the wife of actor Bruce Willis, and together theyâve faced one of the most heartbreaking journeys imaginable.
When Bruce started acting differently, Emma didnât know if she was imagining it, if he was just stressed, or if their marriage was falling apart.
In a desperate effort to understand what was happening, she trusted her gut, and it led to a life-changing diagnosis.
In this powerful episode, Emma shares:
⢠What it feels like when the person you love suddenly starts to change
⢠The moment she realized âjust because one person gets the diagnosis doesnât mean two people have to dieâ
⢠How she found strength in grief, and learned to rebuild her life with purpose and hope
So if youâve ever faced the unexpected, and youâre ready to GET BACK UP and find confidence when life falls apart⌠this oneâs for you!

It was my own personal nightmare to eat alone at school. That moment after getting your food and finding a group of kids you could join would give me heart palpitations. Was there a seat? Was there a seat with the âcoolâ kids? Or would I be relegated to the âlonerâ table? And thatâs what was crazy.... I didnât want to sit with other kids who also didnât have anyone to sit with! Somehow all of us, even collectively, would still be made fun of! But even THAT was better then eating all by myself! Omg I mean the shame! The embarrassment! The ridicule! The weight of not being liked and accepted haunted me. But looking back now I totally see that I didnât even like myself! So why on earth would anyone else?! I didnât believe I had a ârightâ to be sitting at the table (even though I was just stubborn enough to give it a shot every day!). I didnât honor myself!
Now, talking about it from my school days seems rather abstract right? It was so long ago and many of us have stories like that, that donât necessarily affect or correlate to the lives we live now. But forget about school days!.... the feeling of being wanted.... the feeling of being accepted... all relates to how we feel about ourselves. Do you feel âworthyâ. Do you feel âdeservingâ. Do you feel comfortable in yourself and believe in yourself enough to NOT care? Well I have worked so much on my own self esteem and self-worth that yes I can safely say... that now... if you donât see my worth... then honey... Iâd rather eat alone!
Drop in an emoji that best describes how you feel when reading this! And SAVE and SHARE IT with anyone who struggles with this and let them know you see them for them!

One day you'll realize you were never "too much", you were just asking the wrong person!
Before I met Tom, I dated a guy who was sometimes⌠well he was just mean! I always felt like I wasn't good enough and it took me almost 4 years with him to actually realize that I deserved better.
A couple of years later⌠I met âŞ@TomBilyeuâŹ
And the rest... as they say... is history â¤ď¸
Save this as a reminder for the next time you think about accepting less than you deserve!
