📉 Tax Decreases (Relief Measures)
1️⃣ Personal Income Tax Reduction
✅ New tax slabs for individuals (New Regime)
No tax up to ₹12 lakh (₹12.75 lakh for salaried taxpayers after deductions).
New Tax Slabs:₹0-4 lakh → 0%
₹4-8 lakh → 5%
₹8-12 lakh → 10%
₹12-16 lakh → 15%
₹16-20 lakh → 20%
₹20-24 lakh → 25%
Above ₹24 lakh → 30%

✅ TDS & TCS Reductions
Section 194LBC (Income from securitization trust)Before: 25% (Individual/HUF) & 30% (Others)
Now: Reduced to 10%
Timber & Forest Produce TCS reduced from 2.5% to 2%.
Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) TCS on education loans removed.
✅ Corporate & Business Tax Benefits
Presumptive Taxation for Electronics Manufacturing: A simplified tax regime introduced for foreign companies supporting electronics manufacturing.

CAT 2024 exam date is November 24, 2024. the exam will be held in three shifts in over 130 cities across India. The official CAT 2024 notification has been released today (July 28, 2024), 2024 at the IIMCAT website. The offiicial notification will contain CAT 2024 dates, fees, eligibility, courses and other details. CAT 2024 application process will commence from August 1, 2024. Aspirants will have to fill the online application form and pay the requisite fee before the deadline to be eligible to appear for the CAT 2024 exam. This year, CAT will be conducted by IIM Calcutta.
Over two lakh candidates apply for the CAT exam every year. In CAT 2023, applications touched the record high of 3.30 lakh. Candidates who clear the CAT exam are eligible for admission to over 1200 MBA colleges in India, apart from the IIMs.
#CAT Eligibility Criteria 2024
There is no change in CAT 2024 eligibility criteria. The minimum academic requirement to appear in CAT exam is graduation in any stream from a recognised university. Read below detailed CAT eligibility criteria:
1) Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree with minimum 50 per cent aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45 per cent aggregate for SC, ST and PWD/DA category) to appear in CAT 2024.
2) Candidates who have completed a professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/FCAI) with the required percentage can also appear for CAT.
3) Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification or awaiting the result are also eligible to appear for CAT 2024 exam. However, the aggregate of their first and second year marks must meet the minimum score requirement.
4) The education mode of the bachelor's degree can be regular or distance learning, but should be a 3-year programme.
