It's a strange thing to say 'a lightsaber helped me with depression about losing a lot of my vision'. It's weird and it's true. It's hard to feel like you're cool or you're interesting when a lot of what you used to be able to do just isn't available anymore because you can't see well enough. Turns out I can see and handle a very brightly lit object and it has let me continue practicing some martial arts in a way I never thought I'd be able to do again. Posting these videos online took a lot more than I care to admit but the feedback has been really inspiring me to continue and try some more old things I didn't think I could do.
So thanks to everyone who has checked out the videos and an even bigger thanks to my wife for taking the videos and being a god tier camera operator, even if I fuck up more often than not. Happy new Year everyone. I hope you're all doing well and, if you're not, I hope that changes very soon. Shout outs to @Tuhqa and @carlyking for being pillars in the community.
