During the busy holiday season, who couldn’t use more balance?
Sagittarius energy is charm, travel, wit and intellectual expansion. Meanwhile, the tarot card representing this energy is the Temperance card: all about balance, harmony and things happening in the right timing. That’s no accident.
It’s the reminder that keeps us from burning out during that final push of the year. When there’s countless events and gatherings packed into shorter days, and the rhythm of life seems to quicken, even if our bodies crave otherwise.
As shown (below) in the Temperance tarot card: we need to keep one foot on solid ground (with rituals that keep us sane and rested) and the other in water (tapped into our emotions and intuition).
That devil-may-care Sag aura is made possible by the understanding that things will work out in due time — or simply as they will. Control is an illusion. But we can always live with passion and intention.
A FINAL NEW MOON, THEN 2026.
It feels wild that we’ve arrived at the end of 2025 already. But before we welcome a new year, here are some tips for the New Moon in Sagittarius on Friday, December 19 - the last new moon of the year.
Remember, the astrological new year is actually in the spring (Aries season), but the end of the year, and winter generally, is a great season for introspection and reflecting on the past year, including what you want moving forward.
New moons bring the energy of fresh starts. With this new moon in Sagittarius, it’s an ideal time to think about where we’d like to see growth in our lives. Where can more learning or travel welcome change and expansion? How can we step into the luck that’s already prepared for us (Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion)? During this new moon - explore, initiate and play with all the possibilities within your life. And like a Sag, remember to bring fun into the equation.
There’s some new moon journal prompts below to help inspire you.

For me, I love that I live near my favorite things.🥹
I love the pagoda garden, the walking/biking trails by the river, the historic neighborhoods - and that I’m also downtown near the cafes, restaurants and things to do. I love the balance of city/access, walkability and nature.
What (partially) shaped this? I was raised in Virginia Beach, lived in NYC 10+ years, and now in Norfolk the past few years.
Welcome to Cancer Season. Or should I ask: How are you doing this season?
Are you absolutely overcome by the feels? Should I check back in a week or two, when things are less sensitive?
Cancer is a cardinal water sign - so think of your emotions as less of a trickle and more of a downpour at this time. Trying to harness rushing waters in real time is not advised. Head to higher ground and reflect.
In the tarot, The Chariot card represents Cancer energy. This season, you’re tasked with connecting to your intuition and staying on course even when waters grow choppy.
The Chariot represents a clearing away - an open path towards our destiny. Are those powerful emotions actually wiping out some debris? What can the water clear and cleanse?
Stop fighting those big emotions. Let yourself feel. Get in your flow. You’ll go farther.

It’s Taurus Season, and there’s no better time to focus on the things that bring us pleasure.
Don’t avoid self-indulgence. Consider how you can restructure your daily life so joy and abundance feel like intimate friends.
In the tarot, the Hierophant card (which represents Taurus energy) reminds us of the beauty of tradition. Sometimes the stability or grounding we seek involves recommitting ourselves to the things we love.
What hobbies or self-care practices do you want to revisit, or prioritize, this season?
We have entered the dreamiest season of them all: Pisces Season. ♓️
“Once someone dreams a dream, it can’t just drop out of existence. But if the dreamer can’t remember it, what becomes of it? It lives on in Fantastica, deep under earth. There are forgotten dreams stored in many layers. The deeper one digs, the closer they are. All Fantastica rests on a foundation of forgotten dreams.”
Quote: The Neverending Story | Author: Michael Ende
This season especially: remember your dreams, intuition and creativity are all aspects of your spiritual self. Relish in all of those things as Neptune-ruled Pisces does.
Even if you feel disconnected from these aspects of yourself, they are there. Maybe buried deep, but all the more reason to swim those waters. 🌊

Do you think I nailed it? 😉
What does your self-care routine look like this season? For me, Aquarius season urges us to have fun, be spontaneous - essentially go off-script whenever possible. ♒️
Which signs should I do next? Let me know in the comments! 💭
Notice mermaids, beautiful neighborhood paths, and all the things that keep your creativity flowing.
Childlike wonder never dies if we keep it alive through our daily rituals, acts of noticing and willingness to deem the mundanities of life special - simply because they made us stop or smile.

I heard folks born at night are usually night owls. Either way, the 🦉 in me says sunset >>> sunrise.
How about you?
