I feel nervous before I start something new.
I often forget the feeling of something becoming more natural and less hard overtime.
These things aren’t always easy, but doing them gets easier with practice.

I’m so excited for your health journey!

Stress.

We typically talk about stress as something negative in life.

Yea, there’s a type of stress that can negatively impact the human body in a lot of ways - Especially chronic stress that we often face in our day to day lives.

For more info, check out Robert Sapolsky’s book, “Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers.”

This post isn’t about how to manage stress or make it go away.

It’s actually about adding in a very specific type of stress to your life to improve your health and well-being.

Putting yourself in manageable stressful situations with recovery time in between can lead to growth, resiliency, increased motivation, and improved mental health.

Examples:

* Exercise
* Cold exposure (ice baths/cold showers)
* Starting something new
* Setting and working towards goals
* Continuing education

Take a moment to reflect on your own life.

What are some positive stressors that are improving your health and well-being?

If you’ve found yourself in your comfort zone for a little while, what is one small step you can take this week to do something slightly stressful?

Growth is on the other side of your comfort zone.

With love, Jels

Ps. Next event is May 7 at 1pm (Aurora, CO). More info is linked in my bio.
