My video about the Battle of Towton-the Bloodiest battle on English soil, was recently released. It marks a turning point in the Wars of the Roses.
It took me 3 months of work and a complete rework of my code-base. Most of the models were made or reworked by me, soldier uniforms are researched to be as historically accurate as possible, the armors are authentically recreated, etc.
It was a monumental task.
It seems though that it's completely destroyed by the algorithm or promoted to the wrong demographic. That's what happens when you cannot upload twice a week unfortunately.
Any kind of help promoting the video via the usual like-share-commenting will be appreciated.
I might re-upload the video with slight tweaks just in case I can maybe give it another chance at life.
Thanks for listening and for your support.

A small snippet from the Second Battle of St Albans.
I tried to incorporate many cut-scenes in this video and I'll try to take advantage of the new facial animations which are now only reserved for the main characters of my videos.
I might eventually add facial animations to the soldiers during large scale battles so that combat close ups will feel more alive and cinematic.
Still some way to go but I think the video is turning out to be one of my better ones.

It turns out that using the newest version of UE came with some unforeseen consequences, such as newly occurring bugs for large scale renders that consumed quite a bit of the past week to iron out.
Hopefully, all bugs are now fixed and the video is turning out to be quite good.
Here is a small glimpse from my intro scene. Edward IV staring in the distance and contemplating the chaos that is about to unfold.
Stay tuned!

Dynamic spawning of weather effects is now implemented.
I can now make snow gradually appear on the battlefield. Basically have full control.
The only thing that remains is to make the video itself, since all systems are now in place.
Somewhere in Medieval England during a snowy morning the fate of the crown will be decided...
Stay tuned!

I recently became aware that a very well known YouTube channel, "Historia Militum", was tragically hacked and the creator lost access to his channel.
It was quite big(320k or so subs) at the time it was hacked and the owner is yet to gain access to his hacked channel.
Given the situation he has started an entirely new channel from scratch.
He mainly focuses on Roman history which I know will probably interest my core audience, so please go and subscribe.

Facial Animations are getting crazy!
With this new setup that I have, facial animations on key figures of my videos will be next-level.
This unlocks so much story telling potential.
Stay tuned !

Battle System 100% remade.
Interfaces for scalable code, matched combat with various reactions(my only limitation is the actual animations that I have access to, but the system is there).
The only thing my system does not implement yet is automatic rearrangement of formations.
Next battle will be easier to make and better to watch.
I'd also have time to improve my story-telling, direction and of course narration.
This is why every video that I make is a pain-staking process. I make or synthesize the models, make the textures, improve the weight paints of my models, build and improve upon my system for "auto-battles", write the scripts, create the battlefields, direct the videos, narrate and edit them and FINALLY you see a video.
It takes a lot of time but with a better system this amount of time will gradually become shorter and the videos better.
Stay tuned!

A screenshot from my painstaking process of creating assets for my videos.
I already had 15th century models from my previous video about the Battle of Bosworth but I decided that I didn't like them that much anymore.
So, here we go again, three weeks of creating models and counting...
Hopefully, the result will be worth it!
Stay tuned for my new battle. It will feature a very bloody and snowy field somewhere in medieval England...

Today—26 August—marks the anniversary of the Battle of Crecy.
In 1346, King Edward III’s English army pulled off a stunning victory over a larger French force. A massive barrage of longbow arrows rained down on knights and crossbowmen alike—and it changed the future of warfare.
It was the first major Battle of what would be known as the "Hundred Years War".

A small glimpse from my experimentations hence the wild anachronisms you might observe in this test battle scene.
Here is where the "sauce" for the videos is made.
This is something that I wanted to announce. MATCHED COMBAT IS NOW ACCOMPLISHED!
This means that I now have a functioning, fully coded system that's scalable for massive soldier vs soldier clashes.
No longer will "my" soldiers swing randomly at each other. I can now have them both face each other and then fight a predetermined animated choreography which ends in a matched "elimination animation".
Hopefully this will make my videos look more like movies when I zoom in during hand to hand combat!
