If your child isn’t making progress with reading, it’s usually due to these 3 hidden roadblocks:
1. You’re not targeting the right skills.
Many programs focus on letter names, but kids need to master sounds first—especially the ability to hear, play with, and manipulate sounds in words (a.k.a. phonemic awareness).
👉 Without this foundation, reading becomes frustrating instead of fun.
2. The lessons aren’t engaging.
If activities feel like work instead of play, your child will resist.
👉 Choose lessons that are quick, game-based, and full of movement or imagination—especially for younger kids or struggling readers.
3. Progress feels slow or invisible.
Kids need to see and feel their own growth. If they can’t tell they’re getting better, they’ll lose motivation.
👉 Use a system that celebrates small wins, builds confidence, and keeps your child excited to come back tomorrow.
