It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Victor Willis, the founding voice of Village People.
Victor was far more than a frontman. As lead singer and co-writer of "Y.M.C.A.", "Macho Man", "In the Navy" and "Go West", he gave words and voice to songs that have lifted the world to its feet for nearly fifty years. Alongside our founder Henri Belolo and Jacques Morali, he helped create a joy that crosses every border and every generation; one that will never fade.
Our hearts go out to his family, his loved ones, and the millions around the world who will keep singing his songs forever.
Rest in peace, Victor. The music you gave us is eternal.
