Last week, we hosted a welcome ceremony to mark the beginning of the remarkable journey of our new talents into the Sterling Embrace program, in partnership with Stanforte Edge.

The Sterling Embrace program is an initiative launched as part of our diversity, equity and inclusion commitment, focused on creating opportunities for people with disabilities to reach their full potential.

We had a wonderful time introducing these talents to the various business leaders and are excited about their impactful and enriching career journey in Sterling.

Sterling Diary Series: Anjoyinoluwa Boluwajoko, a senior strategist shared her thoughts on this year’s IWD theme with us and this is what she had to say:

“The 2023 IWD theme emphasizes the significance of leveraging technology as a means to empower women and achieve gender equality. I think that technology plays a very huge role in ensuring that women can increase their skill set, broaden their horizons (in terms of access to opportunities), and increase participation in economic and social activities.

We still have a long way to go in bridging the gender gap, especially in access to technology and this IWD is dedicated to encouraging efforts and innovations to close this gap and create a more inclusive digital world.

Technology has made it easy for me to access a wide range of information and online courses that have helped me stay relevant at work. Also, with technology, I am confident to take risks and try out new things.

Thanks to technology, I can be more productive because I have access to tools like Microsoft Viva that helps me track my tasks and focus on what is important. I am also able to multitask efficiently.”

Sterling Diary Series: Abena Annan is a seasoned Marketing expert. Here’s what she has to say about this year’s IWD commemoration:

“While girl child education has been at the forefront of global gender advocacy efforts over the last few decades, it's become critical to ensure that girls feel safe and supported in the professional paths they choose to pursue.

This, especially, includes those in which they're often under-represented, and technology is one. I believe support for women must start when they're girls because that's when values are easily shaped.

Also, creating gender-equitable education systems, for example, empowers them to grow to become women who are confident enough to pursue some of these male-dominated professions. Access to technology has given me a competitive advantage in my career. There are skills I've attained that have enriched the value I add to a company.
