Happy Whiskers Wednesday Everybody!

Today we get to visit with three of Blackies babies that are all living very happily with a very good friend of mine and her family. They are two longhair sisters named Ivy and Little Bean and a Seal Point boy named Simon! Ivy is a beautiful Calico and so far the only Calico that Blackie has had. Her Sister Little Bean is another beautiful cat with orange and black stripes running through her long fluffy hair. They grew up together as babies and they were inseparable then as they are now. If one of them finds something to explore the other one is right there ready to help with the investigation. When they were here with their mommy Blackie they were always the first ones to run out to greet me. They would immediately climb up on my old yellow boots and start swatting at each other trying to win over my attention first. Little Bean is such a fitting name too because she would always curl up like a little bean as I would reach out to touch her. When Ivy was born I couldn’t believe my eyes as she was this amazing patchwork of orange, black and white colors and the same fluffy longhair as Little Bean! She was so adorable and had this amazing personality that she still has today. She was absolutely fearless as she was always out exploring the backyard even when she was alone. Simon is one of Blackies beautiful Seal Points and he’s much lighter colored in comparison to the two seal point kitties that Blackie last had. Simon is definitely going to stay lighter colored over his whole body unlike my Cocoanut who is much darker. Simon is a real character and always wants to be the center of attention just as he was when he was a kitten. He was the first one in his litter to climb the big tree by the deck and he would climb all the way to the top sometimes even worrying me. He loves climbing up onto anything he can find and has a houseplant that he loves to climb up to get to a shelf halfway up a wall. Simon was also the first one in his litter to walk right in my house. He would walk up to Cocoanut without any fear and try to tackle him as well as chase him around the living room. Simon is very playful but he’s also very content to just cuddle up to his family members who love him dearly. Ivy and Little Bean not only have Simon to share their home with but they also live with two outdoor boy cats that love to come inside and play with each other. So they have a big happy family that loves them so much and always takes very good care of each of them. I’m so blessed to have such wonderful friends that have opened up their homes and hearts to Blackies babies. It’s always hard to see Blackies kittens leave with their new families but knowing how much love and happiness they bring makes it much easier and so rewarding. Ivy, Little Bean and Simon are all so happy together and love playing with each other as much as their family loves playing with each of them. They are very beautiful in their own ways and each of them look uniquely different despite having Blackie has their mommy! Blackie always has beautiful babies!

Happy Whiskers Wednesday Everybody!

Lil Nut is going berserk over the fact that he is the center of attention today! He’s rolling around on the kitchen floor from one side to the other with his big fluffy tail flopping back and forth while smiling at me with his cute pink lips because he’s so happy. Lil Nut is always such a happy cat that is constantly looking for attention as well as finding things to play with. He will play with pretty much anything but one of his favorite toys is a plastic wand with feathers on the end. He loves to grab it with his paw and toss it around while jumping up and down over it like he played with a mouse when he was a kitten. He goes crazy when I hold it over his head repeatedly trying to swat it and bite it until I let him grab it from me. You have to let your pets win or they lose interest in playing. Lil Nut’s other favorite thing to do is to run outside as soon as I open the glass door. He really enjoys being outside with his mom and dad as well as eating catnip and some grass. He can stay outside for hours if he wants to but as soon as he’s ready he will walk back up onto the deck and head straight for the door to be let back inside. He’s so well behaved which is why I let him go outside. He is such a beautiful longhair tuxedo with those big green eyes that are hard to see sometimes because of the black fur around them and then he has that black nose above his pink lips with Big Boys big head which all lead to his silly little faces that makes him look so cute. Add to that his goofy outgoing and energetic personality that makes him the little nut that he is. Lil Nut got his name because he was such a little nut from day one. He was one of the smallest of the litter and his brother Hearty would always play with him but Lil Nut was always the instigator of the bunch that loved to wrestle with his siblings as well as his mommy Blackie. Lil Nut learned at a young age that it was fun to jump on my back and then sit on my shoulders and he still does it to this day. Just this morning I bent down to pick something up and he let out a little Mrrp just as he jumped onto my back where he proceeded to lay down before I could stand up causing me to walk hunched over until he jumped off of me onto the couch. He then stood there wagging his fluffy tail while giving me his cute little smile because he knows he’s a little nut!

Lil Nut always enjoys hitting the like button so he likes it when other people remember to hit it too. Lil Nut knows that it’s important to watch videos until the end as he never likes to miss out on anything. What Lil Nut enjoys most of all is listening to the amazing comments that people take the time to write as it makes him very happy especially when they’re about him!

Happy Whiskers Wednesday Everybody!

Hearty was more than ready for this day to come! Hearty is such a smart cat so he knew that today was his day to shine. When I came downstairs Hearty was sitting on the island in the kitchen watching a tiny reflection on the ceiling from the sun hitting a glass I left on the counter. He is always so intrigued by reflections of light and can stare at them for long stretches of time before trying to get close enough to try to catch them. Hearty got his name from the white patch of hair on his back that looks just like a heart and it suits him perfectly as he has such a big tender heart. Hearty is the biggest of the four cats I have brought in from his mom Blackie. He is taller and thicker than any of the other cats which is crazy as he never eats dry cat food only moist food. He’s also the softest of them all. His chest is so soft that it feels like cotton balls. His short hair is very thick and he absolutely loves to be combed from head to tail. He is like Lil Nut in that they both have their daddy Big Boy’s big head! Hearty lowers his head just like his dad when he wants a head bump too! Hearty has a very gentle and sweet personality and he loves to cuddle with me just as much as with his buddy Cocoanut. They are always hanging out together and love to groom each other which sometimes leads to them tackling and wrestling around before one chases the other one away. Hearty is Lil Nuts brother so they have a very strong bond which can be seen when Lil Nut is chasing Smith around. If Smith gets too rough Hearty will jump in the middle to defend his brother. They’re very close and spend a lot of time together as well as sleep against each other every night. Hearty is a very smart boy who loves to play with just about anything he comes across. He’s always watching for any reflection of light on the walls or ceiling and as soon as he sees one he immediately starts staring at it until it disappears. Most of the time it’s the sunlight hitting the screen on my phone in my hand as I aim the light around the room! If you were here to visit Hearty would be the first one to greet you, Smith would actually be the first but Hearty can run faster than him!

Hearty wants to hit the like button for you but he can’t so he wants to remind you to please tap on the like button for him. He watches his buddy Flippy watching videos all the time and he’s always amazed that he can sit there and watch all the way to the end. Hearty is so smart and he knows that Flippy doesn’t want to miss a single thing. Hearty really enjoys getting his belly rubbed as I read all of your wonderful comments so keep them coming!

Happy Whiskers Wednesday Everybody!

Cocoanut is absolutely thrilled about being the center of attention today! He was so excited when I told him that it was his special day that he ran downstairs and jumped up onto the cat tree almost knocking Lil Nut off as he had been sleeping on the top platform. Cocoanut then ran into the kitchen and jumped up onto the counter where he knows I keep his cat treats. I could barely get the container open before he gave out a few little mrrrps and a squeak letting me know that he was ready. I tossed a treat across the kitchen floor just as Cocoanut leaped off the counter and chased down the treat before it had stopped sliding. He likes to hit his treats with his paw sending them flying down the hallway where he can chase after them even farther than where they land. So after he had a few treats he grabbed one of the long thin black plastic shipping straps that was on the living room floor and he dragged it right up to me in the kitchen. All of the cats love playing with these black snakes so I have a bunch of them scattered around the house. So I sat down and started teasing him with it as he tried repeatedly to bite it and take it back away from me. Cocoanut is a very playful kitty that loves to roll around onto his back as well as stand on his hind legs as he plays with his toys. Cocoanut is the shortest of my boys but he’s very stocky and muscular so he likes to think that he’s a big bully. He will pick fights with his best friend Flippy but he really likes to wrestle with Hearty the most. The two of them will chase each other around the house until one of them tackles the other which then usually ends with Cocoanut licking Hearty on the head and ears. Cocoanut avoids any trouble with Aero as they have always had a rivalry with each other mostly because they both are jealous about spending time with me. Cocoanut is such a beautiful boy that loves to get combed as he knows that is how he gets pretty. Every time the cats get groomed I tell them all that it’s time to get pretty and Cocoa is the one that enjoys it the most followed by Smith who also likes to get pretty. Cocoanut is the first Seal Point kitten that Blackie had which is where he gets his gorgeous looks from. He was so white when he was born but he continues to get darker all the time. His blue eyes are amazing especially when the sun hits them which is when they really shine. He really is a beautiful boy inside and out. He is so gentle and has a big heart and he loves to cuddle up against me as much as he can. I’m so blessed to have him in my life as well as all of my cats and I never forget it. Happy Whiskers Wednesday Everybody!

Flippy is absolutely flipping out over the fact that he gets to be the center of attention today! Flippy is usually very shy so he surprised me today when he came running downstairs to pose for his picture. He is so excited and happy that he started to run around in circles chasing his very long tail that he got from his mommy Blackie. Flippy is the first kitten that I kept of Blackies babies. He was such a crazy kitty that would flip over and over in somersaults while trying to catch his long tail. He would literally flip out over his tail! What makes his tail even more irresistible to him is the tiny white tip followed by a small black patch and then a white ring then more black and a couple more white rings. He has been chasing his tail ever since he was a tiny kitten. Flippy is still a very playful cat that loves to catch drips of water from a faucet or play fetch with his favorite boot lace that he’s had since he was a kitten. He’s like Hearty in that he sees reflections of light on the walls and often jumps up to try to catch them. One thing that Flippy really enjoys doing is watching TV and he especially enjoys watching other cats, dogs, birds, chickens and horses on our friends YouTube channels! He’s really enjoying watching his favorite new puppy Spike and his sister Sophie on the Nitrose Farm channel! He flipped out the first time he saw the Silkie Chickens running around and accidentally scratched my screensaver on my phone trying to touch them! Flippy is also the shyest of all of my indoor cats. He’s usually always upstairs in my bedroom where he likes to take naps underneath my blanket during the day. Sometimes he will come down to visit and he of course is always joining everyone else in the kitchen for their dinner of moist cat food. At night he’s always downstairs with Smith doing who knows what as I’m upstairs with Aero, Cocoanut, Hearty and Lil Nut all on my bed while I’m watching the television. During thunderstorms though Flippy and Cocoanut both run down into the basement where they have a storage container with a blanket in it that they both climb into to hide until the storm passes. Flippy is such a sweet affectionate boy that loves to snuggle up to me all the time. He’s so inquisitive about things that the other cats don’t even notice like a cobweb. Then he has that little black half mustache on his face which makes him look so silly especially when he’s cocking his head to one side while looking at things like that cobweb! Flippy is such a happy, joyful cat that I’m so blessed to share my life with every single day!

Spring is here, you can smell it in the air. This is the time of the year when the drab colors of winter become alive from natures paintbrush. It’s the time of the year when optimism rises in all of us. Spring is the time of the year when we want to get out of the house to breathe the air and feel the warmth of the sun on our faces. Spring brings new life and happiness all around us. So if you get the chance, go out and breathe deeply while listening to the music of springs creatures who are also outside enjoying the happiness of the spring season!
