We spent a big chunk of yesterday outside and I filmed a few little videos and thought I’d just get them up quick today. We worked in the garden, then rested in the heat of the day (it’s back to 80’s-90’s again 😭) so I filmed an antique haul and then we worked on our store. Can’t wait to show y’all!
Oh and one of the videos I pulled some antiques I’ve gotten recently but forgot one of my favorites so here’s a picture! Isn’t that table just lovely? I love roses on anything so it’s perfect beside my chair for a cup of coffee.
When you want to learn to make cheese you start with what you got 😬 I don’t have a cheese press (and they’re pricey to just buy) so a 5 gallon bucket with water will due for now. I’ll add water to increase the weight and the books and baking sheet help to hold it stable. Tried another bucket holding the weighted one for more stability but the top bucket wouldn’t sit down far enough to press the cheese. We’ll hopefully make a press for an easier and safer way to press hard cheese. Now to keep little hands away!
It’s here!!!! Never thought I’d see my face in a magazine but here we are and I’m so excited! I’ve always wanted to be a writer since I was a little girl. I have big plans for that dream but here’s to getting started!
Front Porch Life published my article about our blue ribbon yeast rolls. More importantly I shared how they connect me to my values- farm fresh food, family, precious memories and supporting our community. The way I get to spend my days, I know, is my biggest blessing from the Lord.
Here’s a little snippet from the article:
“I continued baking these up, feeling the connection to my family, who had no idea that sometime down the way, I’d be baking up their rolls to nourish my family. What once was just a simple recipe that I could barely read from an old, worn family heirloom became a farm (and family) treasure.”
Saw this little trend on Tik Tok several days ago and had to try it myself. These will be getting printed for the kids room, I love them so much! A family friend took photos of the babies last summer and an app turned them into these, my little country cuties 🥰
