Hi sweet friends!! So sorry to leave y’all hanging but thank you for all of your sweet comments and messages and prayers!! We were out of power for several days off and on, got everything settled back down and now the kids and I have a terrible cold. Regardless, I am working on two videos for ya! If you’ll power through a nasally voiceover or two 😅 for now, I’m resting in bed making lots of granny squares to keep my brain and hands busy while a storm rolls through. I hope you’re having a great end to summer and we’ll talk soon!! ❤️

Coming at you live with no makeup, ratty clothes and crazy eyes to ask for some prayers! Our little town and the surrounding area got hit by a pop up wind storm no one knew was coming and it has wiped everyone’s electric and messed with our water supply. They reported over 100 poles down. We have been without power for over 24 hours and are being told it could be another day or 2 at least. Cellphones were down yesterday but back up today thankfully! We’re trying to save the freezers of homegrown beef and our sanity 😅 I’m trying to stay joyful and grateful that our home and farm had no damage and we have food to eat, which is not the case for so many around me right now. Would ya say a prayer for our community for me? Will share more in the next video, but I have no computer and a dying phone currently. Spending all our time on kindergarten work and reading books to my babies which has been a fun way to spend our time. ❤️ ya!

Back to school (farm school, that is 🤓) haircut for my oldest baby. And yes she’s still a baby! And yes she also wanted bangs this short to keep her hair out of her eyes, she actually wanted shorter but I had to draw the line haha. “These bangs are off the jar!” was her response to them and I’m not quite sure what that means but she said it was good 😅📓✏️

We spent a big chunk of yesterday outside and I filmed a few little videos and thought I’d just get them up quick today. We worked in the garden, then rested in the heat of the day (it’s back to 80’s-90’s again 😭) so I filmed an antique haul and then we worked on our store. Can’t wait to show y’all!

Oh and one of the videos I pulled some antiques I’ve gotten recently but forgot one of my favorites so here’s a picture! Isn’t that table just lovely? I love roses on anything so it’s perfect beside my chair for a cup of coffee.

When you want to learn to make cheese you start with what you got 😬 I don’t have a cheese press (and they’re pricey to just buy) so a 5 gallon bucket with water will due for now. I’ll add water to increase the weight and the books and baking sheet help to hold it stable. Tried another bucket holding the weighted one for more stability but the top bucket wouldn’t sit down far enough to press the cheese. We’ll hopefully make a press for an easier and safer way to press hard cheese. Now to keep little hands away!
