Stray Rescue of St.Louis Official

We seek out and take in those who no other organization will help or would simply euthanize because they are too expensive to heal. We rescue the abandoned, beaten, bred, fought, injured, terrified, defeated and betrayed. The minute they enter our doors, we look in their eyes and promise them ALL the second chance they deserve for health, home, commitment and love, no matter the time or cost.

It is our duty to share some very sad news with you.
Our beloved A-Minor has unexpectedly crossed the rainbow bridge. He was doing so well, but the infection in his brain continued to spread rapidly. We did get the culture back and were fighting it aggressively, but it was just raging. We are all in disbelief and filled with grief. His medical condition escalated so quickly initially, but even still, we were able to give him every chance. Everyone who knew him feels it, he was such a sweetheart. His doctors are mourning, and of course, his Julia, is heartbroken. She cried right along with his nurses and everyone who was caring for him. We’re so thankful he came to us. That because of you, we can give every single one of these babies the fighting chance they deserve. We give them the very best, and most of the time we have the greatest love story on our hands. Stories of triumph, resilience, forgiveness, and even sometimes medical miracles. But realistically, there also times like this. We feel so much pain in their loss. If the infection wouldn’t have festered for so long before he was able to get help, we would have very different news for you today.
But he LOVED his few days he got to spend at Julia’s house. He got to be her baby and part of her family. No matter how short it may seem, he got to know and experience respect, be valued, and of course so. much. love. To us, that is priceless and never ever to be taken for granted.
We are so sorry to give this news. Thank you for always believing in our mission and rallying around these babies who literally have no one. Thank you for righting the wrongs of others and loving these little ones so hard. We are so thankful for our community.

Little Joanie January is safe.
Fed.
Warm for the first time in weeks.
And now she's also free of her cold, heavy, wet matting.
She must feel brand new!
We absolutely love a before & after, don't you?

THANK YOU to everyone who gave to save Atlas.
We just went and picked him up, the blood transfusion was a success and he is eating on his own! We can't stop kissing this perfect boy. Thank you for believing in us, for trusting us, and for caring about these special souls as much as we do. We will never be able to thank you enough for all you do! Strayrescue.org/heating-up
