6 Years ago, I had no experience in Digital Marketing, no fancy connections, and honestly, I was overwhelmed.
But I made a plan, stuck with it, and here’s what worked: 1️⃣ Learned the Basics I started with a coaching, and some free courses on YouTube, HubSpot, and Google. I didn’t need to know everything—just enough to understand SEO, social media, and email marketing.
2️⃣ Built a Portfolio Without a Job I offered to help small businesses and friends for free. Whether it was creating Instagram posts or writing blog articles, these became my “proof of skills.”
3️⃣ Networked Like Crazy I reached out to people on LinkedIn who worked in digital marketing. Some ignored me, but a few gave me great advice and even recommended me for roles.
4️⃣ Customized Every Application Instead of spamming my resume everywhere, I tailored each one to the job description. I also made sure to include examples of my work.
Finally, I landed a job! It wasn’t a “big” company, but it was a HUGE opportunity for me to grow.
💡 My advice to you? Start small, stay curious, and don’t wait for someone to hand you an opportunity—create it yourself.
If you’re trying to break into digital marketing (or any field), I’d love to connect and share more tips. Let’s grow together! 🌟
