After six years of running a farm-to-table business in Indiana, we made the difficult decision to sell it all and chase a dream, traveling the country and learning from the small farms and farmers who are doing things differently.
Over the next year, we visited more than 100 farms, learning, asking questions, and discovering new ways to care for the land, raise animals, and build a life around farming.
Now, we’re settling down again in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Appalachia, starting a new homestead completely from scratch.
This is the next chapter, building a homestead, raising our family, caring for animals, growing food, and putting everything we’ve learned along the way into practice.
Rooted Appalachia
Beautiful people, you spoke, we heard, we prayed… and it finally came through. 🙏
We’ve found the name for what we hope will be one of the greatest chapters of our lives:
Rooted Appalachia
Honestly, the name hit us like a ton of bricks. It just felt right.
We’re incredibly grateful for all the support, encouragement, laughs, and love you’ve shown us along the way. ❤️
Now comes the fun part, trying to figure out this thing called life, homesteading, family, farming, and everything in between.
We hope you’ll stick around, follow along, and join us for the adventure.
Welcome to Rooted Appalachia!!

A New Chapter, But We Need Your Help - Longerish Read!
This isn’t an easy decision to make, and before anything else, I want to say this clearly:
We are NOT leaving YouTube!
But if you’ve been here with us from the beginning, you know this channel has been through a lot.
We started by farming and selling directly to our customers. Then came the burnout, selling the farm, and stepping away from the life we had built.
Then we hit the road.
We traveled, visited more than 100 incredible farms, met some amazing people, and had the privilege of sharing their stories with you.
And eventually, we found our way back to farming and building a life here again.
As I look back on the end of our second full year here, I keep coming back to the same thought:
It’s time to start the next chapter.
Honestly, this probably should have happened years ago. The name we've been using doesn't really capture where we've been, where we are, or where we're going anymore.
So we're going to make a change.
A new channel. A new name. Same people. Same story. Just the next chapter.
And this is where I need your help.
What should we call it?
I want a name that can grow with us. Something that represents the journey, not just farming, not just homesteading, but everything that comes with building a life, figuring things out, changing direction, and sometimes starting over.
If you've been here since the beginning, you've been part of this story.
So help us name the next chapter.
Drop your ideas below. Seriously, nothing is off the table.
And when we make the move, I really hope you'll come with us. ❤️

Hey y’all, quick heads up—late last night I realized the comments were turned off *again* on the latest video. No clue why it keeps happening randomly 🤦♂️
But we’ve got it fixed and comments are back on!
Thank y’all so much for watching and for always showing up! We appreciate you more than you know!

Alright y’all… I wish I could say this would be the last “warning” post about a video, but here we are again!
Tomorrow’s video includes us rebreeding our gilt. We went back and forth on whether to show it, but at the end of the day, this is real farm life, and we chose to share it.
From experience, there’s a good chance YouTube won’t push this one, and it may not get monetized… and honestly, that’s okay with us. We’d rather be real and show the process than skip over parts of the journey!
Maybe it helps someone. Maybe it doesn’t. Maybe you just get a better look at what actually goes into raising animals. Either way, it felt right to include it.
We didn’t add a graphic warning because, truthfully, we don’t see it that way, it’s just a normal part of farm life!
Appreciate y’all being here and supporting the real, unfiltered version of this journey. Video drops tomorrow at 12PM EST!

Hey y’all! Tomorrow’s video is dropping at 12PM EST—just wanted to give you a heads up 👀
This one is almost double the length of our normal videos. I got into the edit and instead of splitting it into 3 parts (and putting us way behind real time), we decided to roll it all into one big video!
Honestly… I’m pretty pumped with how it turned out!! 🤘
Hope y’all enjoy it! Let us know what you think about the longer videos—we’re curious if this is something you’d like to see more of!

Hello beautiful people!!
I owe you all an apology. I logged in this morning and saw we didn’t have a single comment, and honestly thought, “man… y’all must’ve hated that video.”
Turns out, that wasn’t the case at all! Someone reached out and another tried to comment to let us know, comments had somehow been turned off. I’m not sure how it happened, but that’s on me!
They’re back on now, and I’ll definitely be double-checking that going forward.
Appreciate y’all more than you know!! Hope you have a great day!!

Hey beautiful people! No video today and we won’t be able to go live tonight. One of us got hit with the flu and we’re scrambling to get things buttoned up before the big storm rolls in. We might try for a Saturday morning live, weather willing! Thanks for hanging with us ❤️

Rip jeans 2022–2026 🪦
I had no idea my “air-conditioned” jeans would be such a controversial moment on camera 😂
Not gonna lie… watching them back in HD on my television hurt my soul a little!
But fashion is pain and also ventilation, apparently.
