Thank you for all the birthday wishes today! Feeling extra grateful because tonight, we got to celebrate two big milestones—hitting 30K YouTube subscribers (huge thanks!!) and Hook Agency crossing $5M in yearly recurring revenue, in a group of our peers.

Honestly, if we’re doing well, it’s because we’ve helped a lot of other people win first.

That’s part of what keeps me motivated to keep improving what we do every month. Through bell-ringing successes and why I take gravel-scraping failures so personally, for better or worse.

Just know - as we figure out what works, we’ll keep sharing everything we learn.

Of course there’s no secrets, but I’ve put myself in many uncomfortable situations to get around home service + roofing millionaires, and crazy high achievers to ask hard questions - and I’ll keep doing that.

So if you see these milestone posts, I hope they come off as encouragement. Because if we’re winning, I want it to mean good things for you too. 👊❤️

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

My wife being a critical part of our business.

June coming to trade shows and traveling with us.

Getting my butt handed to me as a small business owner.

Learning, failing, doing it tired and scared.

Constantly trying to get better with blood, sweat and tears.

Bootstrapping completely from scratch, with no PE, and no safety net.

I often second guess myself, shot at by competitors, underestimated underdogs, while our team of killers doubles down on systems, processes and results…

Taking major swings with no protection from risk, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

7 Years since my beautiful wife Bea Bonte took this picture on the left, rooting me on my new venture in a 500 sq foot shared office in a basement...

I am grateful for the team today. It's certainly difficult to learn to be a leader, and not only a leader – but someone who is creating systems and accountability to grow leaders of leaders.

A place where people can have clear roles, autonomy, and do metric-driven marketing, and where we get better all the time.

We have the best clients, and when we fail – often they help us get better, and we try to own our failures. We are not done improving our systems and our results.

Thank you for everyone that is rooting for us.

To my haters - sorry, we're probably not done growing yet.

To roofing companies and home service business owners – let me know how I can help you and your company.

Roofers and contractors essentially MADE US, and we'll continue to try to give back.
