I started learning to crochet five days ago, and at first, it was really hard. A friend randomly said, “Let’s crochet,” and I thought to myself, I think I learned this in primary school… maybe when I was around 12? You know that space between the end of primary school and secondary school where they teach you random crafts, that era 😅
But honestly, I didn’t even remember how to hold a needle or make a slip knot. It felt completely new, frustrating, and unfamiliar like being introduced to it for the very first time.
The first night was especially hard. But I challenged myself to keep going.
Partly because I don’t like giving up on things that require patience and effort but mostly because I kept hearing this thought in my head: “I’m too old to learn anything new. I don’t have the patience anymore.”
And I realized… that’s one of the biggest lies we can believe. And also it's a lie alot of people randomly start believing 😖
So I kept working at it. I kept practicing. And I created two things — a headband and a laptop sleeve (we won’t count the very first headband I was learning on 😅). So proud btw 😅 I keep thinking wow I made this with my bare hands, that's crazy!!
As usual, I began to see God in the process. Teaching me to slow down. To focus. To remember that life doesn’t always have to be rushed. Teaching me life is about process and patience to get to your desired end!
This required my time, my attention, and my presence. And I felt God gently saying, “It’s okay to take your time. It’s okay to slow down and just be.”
In just five days, crocheting has helped me find a sense of inner peace I didn’t even realize I had lost.
Today's vlog is gonna be dropping tonight! Better late than never right!?!??
