I am passionate about the process of creation. Using a variety of painting and drawing mediums, I share with you what I have learned to make the creation process easier, interesting and fun! I love to experiment with different approaches in both painting and drawing, to create depth in my art and express in art styles that combine realism and impressionism. I also share art tips to make your art process more efficient.

Its always so much fun to show my work with my California Colorists Group of artists. We installed our art show at the London Nelson Center last week and already a few paintings and giclee prints have sold! I am so grateful to be a part of this artist community here in my home town as well as here with you on You Tube! Thank you friends! I appreciate you so much!! Show runs till the end of August in Santa Cruz, Ca.

Oil Painting In Progress...To paint a commission painting of a clients beloved horse is a very special gift. For the person who cherish their equine companion and for me, the artist they entrust. To honor the bond of love they share by creating a painting truly fills my heart with joy and gratitude. My client asked me to include certain
elements in her painting including the tulips and gerber daisies as they hold special meaning. I will be adding more paint and will post it here when it is completed.

Painting commission work is very fun for me to do and the joy it brings to the one who receives it is so fulfilling. Sometimes it challenges my imagination in ways that definitely hone my skills and helps me to become a better artist. A client and collector recently asked me to paint her when she was 16 years old on her 17.2 hand horse named Tony. She loved this big boy and showed him as a hunter jumper. She described to me where she lived, how she looked and gave me a small black and white photo of her on Tony. Here is the painting and I am happy to say, she really loved it!!

Hello friends! I want to share with you my progress so far on the creation of this painting. I posted a video demonstrating creating this drawing of this horse on canvas a few months ago. My apologies that its taken a few months to create a painting over this drawing..but sometimes that is how it is with a painting. :) I was pondering the direction that I wanted to go in creating this painting. I did seal this drawing onto my canvas. I am now applying oil paint over the drawing using oil glazes and thicker oil paint applied with a painting knife. I am very close to being finished with this painting. I will be posting this painting demonstration video to my channel very soon!

I had the pleasure of participating in Open Studios Art Tour 2024 last month and had so much fun! I have been a participating artist since 2008 and every year I meet new people and new collectors. I really enjoy being one of over 300 participating artists every year. Its so important that we, as artists share our work with the public. It was a wonderful experience this year seeing many who had come to the show over the years, showing and selling my artwork, and talking to everyone. One of my favorite things is that people like to share their photos and tell me about their companion animals and experiences with the animals. I really love that! As an artist, it is always fun to show your work. Today I am honored to say that all four drawings that I submitted to the Professional Drawing division received a ribbon. First Place went to 'Forward Thinking'. Excellence in design went to 'Amazing Grace' and Third Place , 'Thinking Outside The Lines'.

Creating a painting for a client is a wonderful experience. My hope and intention is to capture the likeness and spirit of the animal and I do think his spirit really shines through. My client provided me with many photos of her beloved horse. He had crossed the rainbow bridge and was so deeply missed. I am so grateful that she loved her painting! Oil on wooden panel
