Got a chance to meet up with a subscriber and a huge railfan @Sharkdemon59 in Mt Vernon, Il to see NS 4822 heritage unit. Be sure to check out his channel and give him a sub!
We normally don't try to ask our subscribers for anything except to watch and enjoy our videos, but I would like to give a special shoutout to @Rails-Of-Illinois .
He has supported our channel, so we are asking for any of our subs to head on over to his channel, check out his new content, and give him a sub.
On May 10, 1869, at an obscure spot in northern Utah, after 4 years, millions of dollars, and thousands of miles, the eastern most rails of the Central Pacific finally met the western rails of the Union Pacific. This is a picture of the famous photo that was taken at the spot on that day, and this is what it looks like today.
A journey from Iowa to California that took 4 or 5 months previously now only took 8 days.
Although largely surpassed by other forms of transportation today, the joining of the rails at Promontory signifies the spirit of mankind and what people can do when they unite and combine their efforts.
Met up with @Rails-Of-Illinois a few weeks back in Blue Island. Be sure to check out his channel and give a subscribe to his awesome channel! And as always, Happy railfanning!
Shout out to @Coney Island hot dogs in Bushnell, Florida. Great food with even better service! Grab a hot dog and railfan right out front on the old Seaboard Air line (now CSX).
