Nora Fatehi confirmed that she has been against the song Sarke Chunar, Hindi version of the song Sarse Ninna from the Kannada film, KD The Devil. She posted a video regarding this on her social media and said, I had shot this song three years ago in a language called Kannada... I said yes to it because it was part of a big film. It was with a big icon, Sanjay Dutt—who would say no to work with him?
She added that she relied on the filmmakers for translations at the time. She said, nothing seemed inappropriate or vulg*r when they were translating the song to me…but then, I don’t understand Kannada, so I was relying on what they told me.
She further said, when they played the Hindi version, I knew it was a wrap. I knew we were going to have issues because at least I understand Hindi. I told the director, this is not going to be OK, this will get a lot of backlash.
She further claimed that she had distanced herself from the project and chose not to promote it. She added, I again flagged it to the director and I said my image and reputation are on the line…
Adding on to this, in the caption of the video, Nora wrote, I had no idea about this Hindi song. I did not perform to it.
