A few of you commented about not knowing what was going on with the Miracle Puff (Cassidy) - here's the March 2026 update: Bartlett finished chemo for his GI MCT in Sept, and his Quality of Life has returned to pre-diagnosis levels! I wasnβt expecting to have this much quality time with him, and am so incredibly grateful and amazed!! His next scan is April 7. π
The #MiracleKitten's zest for life has not diminished. Emptying his bladder remains a massive challenge, and his condition continues to change, so my strategy has needed constant research and adjustment.
In Nov, I figured out his bethanechol (med that helps his bladder muscle contract) only works if given after a 6+ hour fast + at least one hour before feeding him. GI inflammation and/or delayed emptying had been interfering with the bethanechol's absorption.
Once I started fasting him, I could reliably help him urinate within a 60 min window, twice a day. Huge relief, but in January, his urinary retention started to creep up again, and it became increasingly difficult to help him release urine.
In early Feb, I stumbled across a journal article (link in comments) about tactile stimulation while expressing. It involves "pottying" him like we do with kittens with one hand, while simultaneously applying pressure to his bladder with the other. This WORKED, although it's been challenging to hold, carefully squeeze, and stimulate simultaneously. I've been working on my technique, and he's now able to empty his bladder to normal-cat levels most days!
Huge breakthrough. The big unknown is how long this will work, whatβs causing these changes, and how things might progress.
Being dependent on me (and only me) to pee is worrisome, as it means I'm unable to be away from him longer than 12 hours.
Pantsaroo has hypercalcemia and renal disease but is doing well, and the Auracuda is also doing well!

βBefore TNR, cats showed clear signs of consuming wild prey, while after TNR and food provisioning their diets resembled those of indoor cats"
Our research provides the first isotopic evidence that Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and daily feeding of cat colonies can simultaneously improve cat welfare and reduce ecological impacts on wildlife, offering a rare win-win model for balancing compassion and conservation.

Today, we are bursting with love and gratitude for our amazing #TinyVillage. π
We needed your help to get two very special kitties some very complicated medical care. We asked, and you stepped up in a massive way. Your compassion and generosity once again saved the day, and we are so excited to announce we will receive the $10,000 in matching funds! ππ₯°

Here's the latest on Tomball and Teacup:
Adorable Teacup is doing well! She's so sweet and funny, and continues to amaze us with her resilience. Dr. Rochette (dental specialist) was able to move up her appt to Dec 19th - yay! We are anticipating intensive recovery care along with lots of physical therapy, if Dr. R is able to restore some mobility to her jaw.
Tomball is recovering well from his neuter, dental cleaning and exam. Heβs gaining confidence, and is starting to express his feral boundaries very clearly. We are continually observing, assessing and adjusting our approach so we can show him life with humans isn't so bad. He's given us a few glorious moments letting down his guard, but we have a long way to go.
Next steps: We are waiting for his appt to be scheduled with the dental specialist. The hope is that she will be able to remove problematic ballistics fragments, repair damage to his jaw and teeth from being shot, and remove the polyps from his ears.
We know how very blessed we are to have a #TinyVillage who shares our belief that cats like Tomball and Teacup are worth saving. We don't take for granted how lucky we are to have the opportunity to provide the medical care required to save these extra complicated, but extremely deserving, cats.
Please also know we understand times are tough, and for those who aren't in a position to help financially, we deeply appreciate the many other ways in which you support us! β€οΈ
Thank you, all. π

We are devastated by the loss one of our own this weekend. Kel was one of our beloved mods, and we are so blessed and grateful to have had her for as long as we did.
πππππ
From our #ModSquad:
Kerry "kelgarumo" Labay unexpectedly passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 14th. She loved tacos and snark, her real family, and her mod family. She was a wonderful mentor to all of our mods. She was generous to a fault and cared about everyone.
She worked for NASA and missed not being able to continue due to unimaginable chronic pain. She could no longer care for cats on her own, so she poured her love for them into every single cat and kitten at TinyKittens. She dedicated her last six years to volunteering for TinyKittens, making chatters feel safe and welcome, providing information, and spreading the word about cat overpopulation and our rescue efforts, with a smile and ever present (more than 4 if we let her) emojis.
She will be missed by all of us very much, and is opening and closing her umbrella all the time now.
P.S. Cornfields (in the photo) was one of her TK faves. β€οΈ

Tinykittens wants YOU! π
Would you like to be part of our team, from wherever you are in the world?
Weβre currently looking for great moderators to join the team of volunteers that keeps our livestream chat rooms peaceful, informative and family friendly, 24 hours a day, seven days a week!
Being a moderator for TinyKittens takes patience, compassion and humor, plus the ability to multi-task, de-escalate, think on your feet and take direction. You do not need prior moderator experience, we will provide training!
We LOVE our #ModSquad SO much, and are beyond grateful for the critical work they do, because it allows us to focus on providing the best possible care to our cats and kittens in need, while keeping our #TinyVillage informed and helping to raise awareness. π
