U.S. Senator John Cornyn (TX) has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting Texas Veterans through legislative initiatives, advocacy, and direct engagement.

His efforts encompass improving healthcare access, enhancing quality of life, and ensuring that Veterans receive the benefits and recognition they deserve.

A staunch advocate for those that serve(d) and their families. πŸ«‘πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

In 1999, I was honored and grateful to be selected as a Presidential Motorcade driver, during a meeting of the 8 most powerful countries leaders in the world, called the G8 Summit, in Okinawa Japan. Bill Clinton was President at the time.

Prior to the meeting, U.S. Secret Service agents sought out and found myself and around 9 other military personnel, who happened to have side jobs driving military folks around Okinawa.

Once we agreed to the special assignment, the Secret Service conducted deep background checks and required us to wear "Special Security" badges at all times when near the President and other World leaders.

We drove high level delegates, White House Staff, Cabinet members, and other leaders, along with a Secret Service Agent in the vehicle at all times when transporting.

For 3 days, we worked 14 hour's driving, transporting, and required to be on standby for immediate transport.

During standby's, I had great conversations with the Presidential driver, who was always on standby near all of the Presidential vehicles. He was nice enough to allow me near the vehicles, look around, but prevented from looking inside. He also showed me how this the limousine door is....like wow!

During many of the transports, I was following only 3-4 vehicles behind the Presidential limousine. I can't even begin to explain what it feels like to be in Presidential motorcade, traveling at high speeds, with roads that were shut down for us and many people along the routes waving.

Long journey from the Butler Housing Projects in Fort Worth Texas to driving 3-4 vehicles behind the President, the most powerful man in the world!!! These are some of the actual photos from the experience.πŸ™πŸ½πŸ”₯✊🏽🫑
