I’ve been so busy lately, I forgot this month celebrates ✨Hmong Heritage Month✨ in the state of Wisconsin! Usually throughout this month, some schools and students plan events or activities to acknowledge and celebrate the Hmong culture. Sometimes kids are allowed to wear their Hmong traditional outfits to school~
Here is a scene from my comic book, “The Collection,” sharing this same experience as a kid! “The Collection” follows a young Hmong-American 5th grader and her struggles with accepting her Hmong culture at school and learning to balance her life at home.
