Through the blessings of Shri Shiva, we managed to do the complete parikrama(pradakshina) of Kailashji.πŸ™πŸ½. I will share more photos and experiences over the next few days.
This has been a life long wish which fructified through no effort from my part. The opportunity came, family invited and arranged for it, friends of family facilitated it and finally β€œHe” alone decided that we should have the blessing of visiting Him. After trials and hardships, which we navigated through Bhakti and shraddha, He granted us a set of 3 clear days for the parikrama and the strength of will to navigate it. Om namah Shivaya πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½

What we learn on tough journeys is that all that we can do is plan. But how it works out is dependent on other factors. Especially when the journey is a spiritual journey, a pilgrimage. To get the opportunity to undertake the pilgrimage only happens if His grace provides for it. Even after that, every obstacle, every delay, every hardship is the penance one undergoes to test the resolve to see the process through. Patience and acceptance of His will is of utmost importance. We accept His will and await His grace. First step already taken towards Him today.
Landing at Simikot airport in a beautiful valley happened today. Yesterday was impossible due to heavy winds. Every day brings a new challenge. But the fact that we came so far means His grace provides. Om namah Shivaya πŸ™πŸ½ step 2#kailshyatra

Shri Bhageshwari Devi temple- Shakti peetham. Nepalganj is the first town after we cross the border of India into Nepal when travelling from Lucknow. This town is the halt point for groups before beginning the trip towards Nepal-China border. Since the Kailash yatra is only for 2-3 months every year, the crowd of pilgrims makes it impossible to judge how many days one needs to wait for the Visa. While waiting in Nepalganj one can visit the Shri Bhageshwari Devi temple. This Shakti peeth is the place where the tongue of Devi fell when Shiva grieved the loss of His Sati Devi. Simple and divine, this unassuming temple fills you with a feeling of divine grace, almost like an invitation towards Kailash. Jai Mataji ki πŸ™πŸ½ #kailashyatra, #shaktipeetam

β€œPonnar Meni”, is the Tamizh name for this vision of Kailash Parvat/ Kailasam. Known as the residing place of Shiva and Parvati, Mount Kailash is seen as Shiva himself by the Tamizh, therefore He who shines in Golden colour is a sight of the Lord himself. It is seen as one of those places which can be viewed only by a fortunate few. It is a holy place for Hindus, Buddhist, Jains, Bons and others. Only the most devout undergo this arduous journey to one of the highest altitude pilgrimage sites. It is only His grace that allows us to make the journey and then complete it. Om namah ShivayaπŸ™πŸ½
It is a sight to behold as the mountain lights up in gold early in the morning. Other times it shines in deep lapis lazuli blue. It is always just Kailash which lights up thus, while the surrounding mountains remain a dull grey. The purpose of the pilgrimage is to visit, view and if lucky, perform a parikrama- circumambulation of the mountain. Getting permits, weather conditions, health, are all parameters which change constantly and one has to be lucky for all of them to align and allow for the complete parikrama. It is indeed only Shiva’s grace that can make it all happen. Om namah Shivaya πŸ™πŸ½ #ponnarmeni

Guruvasara/ Thursday is the day specific to the worship of Guru. The Supreme Paramatma too is worshiped in the form of a guru. Shri Hayagreeva(horse faced form) is an avatars of Shri Vishnu, who manifested to save the Vedas. As the protector of knowledge and in fact as the embodiment of Wisdom, he is praised in this Stotram.
Chanting this Shloka everyday will help students excel and will also help everyone to gain knowledge and attain wisdom.

Today is Shankara Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Shri Adi Shankaracharya . He is celebrated as the one solely responsible for the rejuvenation and establishment of a waning Hindu society. This is why we still celebrate his birthday.
Adi Shankaracharya (c. 8th century CE) was one of India’s most influential spiritual philosophers and theologians. He is best known for consolidating the doctrine of Advaita Vedanta, which teaches that the individual self (Atman) and ultimate reality (Brahman) are fundamentally one and without duality.
Born in Kalady, he became a monk at a young age and traveled extensively across India, engaging in philosophical debates and revitalizing Hindu thought during a time of diverse religious movements. His commentaries (bhashyas) on key scriptures like the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Brahma Sutras are considered foundational texts of Vedanta philosophy.
The body of work accomplished by him is considered immense for the time he took to do them.
1. Major Commentaries (Bhashyas) – Core, widely accepted
β€’ Brahma Sutra Bhashya
β€’ Bhagavad Gita Bhashya
β€’ Principal Upanishads Bhashyas (on 10 major Upanishads):
β—‹ Isha, Kena, Katha, Prashna, Mundaka, Mandukya
β—‹ Taittiriya, Aitareya, Chandogya, Brihadaranyaka
2. Independent Philosophical Works (Prakarana Granthas)
β€’ Upadesa Sahasri
β€’ Vivekachudamani (authorship debated)
β€’ Atma Bodha
β€’ Aparokshanubhuti
β€’ Tattva Bodha

3. Devotional Hymns (Stotras)
β€’ Bhaja Govindam
β€’ Nirvana Shatakam
β€’ Dakshinamurthy Stotram
β€’ Saundarya Lahari
β€’ Shivananda Lahari
β€’ Kanakadhara Stotram
β€’ Annapurna Stotram
β€’ Subrahmanya Bhujangam
β€’ Ganga Stotram
And more.
Shankaracharya also established four major monastic centers (mathas) in different parts of India to preserve and propagate his teachings. His works emphasize knowledge (jnana) as the path to liberation (moksha), along with devotion and ethical living.

He attained Samadi at a young age of 32, but his philosophical legacy continues to shape Hindu spirituality and thought to this day.
