Kimchi & I make immersive films and teach what we learn - so you can tell stronger stories in 360° and VR180. I’m Hugh Hou, an Emmy-winning filmmaker, and this channel is where I share real-world camera tests, editing workflows, and behind-the-scenes lessons from the field. If you’re a creator, brand, or educator trying to level up in immersive video, you’re in the right place.
Expect practical tips, honest reviews, and step-by-step guides you can actually follow - plus a few experiments that push what’s possible on Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest, and YouTube VR. New videos and Kimchi updates drop regularly.
Subscribe if you want to create immersive work that looks great in a headset and makes people feel something. Drop your questions or wild ideas in the comments—Kimchi checks them all.

We are still working on our very complicated ASAF post production for "Warwick in the Dark" using Fairlight. We ran into coupled bugs in the latest 20.2.3 and I will suggest anyone in the mid of Spatial Audio Mixing do NOT upgrade to 20.2.3 yet. But we did figure out coupled really cool tools as you see in the screenshot that have full head tracking and audio heatmap if you did use a Ambisonic Mic. There are routing hacks you will need to do and I am working tho those hacks / bugs. In theory, this should be all fixed in the next version (hopefully), but if you are having inconsistent result, this is probably the reason. If we did not see an update, I will just launch this and explain my workflow so you can get back to work instead of waiting forever for fixes. Again, this might negatively impact my YouTube Algorithm for search and discovery... But as the Internet tech support on Immersive Filmmaking, we will strike to serve the community first before our channel grow.
You can help tho, share our current tutorials like this: https://youtu.be/XlCXEoJPn6o on your community, watch our Immersive Video on YouTube VR / Spatial Film on Vision Pro, engage with us and each other in the comment sessions. I hate to follow "YouTube best practices" guide for growth as it is not serving human beings but to robot and Algorithm. It is because of the Algorithm we have so many junk in our feeds and take our attention away from what matter. This "social media" is getting in the way of personal growth and skill development - which is what YouTube was famous for before Shorts...
Anyway, we don't care if we only get couple hundreds views which seem to be on all our recent long form tutorial series. I think we offer great value to the community and at the end of day, it is YOU and YOUR SUCCESS we care about. And we firmly believe you need this knowledge as in-depth as it could be to master a new skill.
Anyway, just want to give all of you an update on ASAF, and our ongoing series and what is the hold up on releases. Kimchi is working really hard for you so help us to help you ... subscribe, share, like, comment, and engage with us. I hate to say all that but it really help us to keep the Masterclass free with love.
Cheers and keep on creating my friends!

We’re beyond honored to share that we’re in this month’s ICG Magazine (Local 600 - The International Cinematographers Guild)!
From being a long-time reader to now included in this special issue - it’s a dream come true. In the article, we share how we use the @BlackmagicDesignOfficial URSA Cine Immersive camera to create immersive 180° content on Apple Vision Pro and beyond.
This recognition wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of Keeley Turner (Immersive Director of Metaverse Stage / Spatial Film), our hardworking crew, the support of Blackmagic Design, and the many collaborators who share in this vision of pushing storytelling into new dimensions.
And this is just the beginning. As an immersive cinematographer, my mission is to keep pushing the boundaries of storytelling and building workflows that empower every creator ready to explore the next era of immersive cinema.

🚧 Behind the Scenes 🚧 Look at the insane routing for our next Apple Immersive Video / Film - all running inside Fairlight.
We’ve got ASAF + AmbiX + Stereo + 5.1 surround running at the same time… and yes, we’re building a workflow that can render all these formats at once.
That means one timeline → multiple platform deliveries (YouTube VR, Meta Quest, Vision Pro, even theater) -without sacrificing mix quality.
The film drops first, and then I’ll break it all down step by step in a dedicated Fairlight tutorial.
Kimchi says 🐕: “Stay tuned… you don’t want to miss this one!”
Okay back to work Kimchi!!!

Kimchi: “Finally… Apple made my color. Cosmic O’Kimchi. Look, I’m on the iPhone!” 🐕
While Kimchi is busy pre-ordering the Cosmic O’Kimchi iPhone 17 Pro Max (and crossing paws that the dual 48MP cameras are actually identical for 4K 60fps Spatial Video)… what’s your pick this year?
👉 iPhone Air
👉 iPhone 17
👉 iPhone 17 Pro
👉 iPhone 17 Pro Max 2TB beast
Drop your choice below ⬇️ ... ... and yes, Kimchi is judging your storage options 😂😂😂😂😂

We’re back with another Kimchi Member Exclusive AIVU release. This time, we’re taking you to Ohio and the beautiful Mill Creek MetroParks. Download it for your Apple Vision Pro Now: www.patreon.com/posts/visit-mill-creek-135877481
Being in nature has always been our thing, and it’s what inspires us to bring you along. And in crazy high resolution (16K), we can truly transport nature into the Apple Vision Pro. Just look at the details—this place is mesmerizing.
We honestly don’t get why Ohio gets such a bad rep in media. It’s a beautiful, peaceful place you should visit at least once in your life. But if you can’t make the trip yourself, we’ve got you covered in this series of immersive 180 videos.
We are working on the YouTube VR / Meta Quest version. But you really need to experience this at least once inside Vision Pro to see those crazy details in dense forest.
And exciting news: We’re going to London in two weeks!
If you’re in the London area, please reach out—we’re looking for a local guide to help us find the best spots for immersive 180 captures in London and beyond.
