Michael Dennis Starbuck

Hello everyone! My name is Michael Dennis Starbuck, and I usually post weather videos, travel videos, and vlogs on here. I posted political videos for a while on here, but I don't do that anymore. I try and keep it positive on this channel as much as possible. All of my videos are usually recorded by phone or tablet, so that's why my videos don't always turn out the greatest. A lot of times, I don't just make videos (the traveling videos and vlogs) for views, I make them for memories. That's another good reason I keep this channel positive. My life doesn't evolve around YouTube, I just upload and post videos just for fun in my downtime.

Another incoming long post here. Not expecting very many people to read this, but for those who do, enjoy reading this.

First and foremost, I hope everybody had a fantastic weekend to remember. My weekend wasn't too bad, other than the fact that I had to go to a funeral yesterday I didn't record at the funeral because I wasn't sure if it would be respectful to do so or not, so I ended up not doing that. It was a funeral for one of my great-great uncles on my dad's side of the family. It wasn't a super close family member, but it's somebody that I would see once a while. He was a very nice man. His name was William Stegman, but he went as Bill for sure. Has a lot of people that are named William go by Bill. But it is unfortunate that he passed away and he will deeply be missed. Other than that, my weekend wasn't too bad. Yesterday afternoon about a few hours after the funeral, I took my little sister and my nephew out to go get ice cream because my little sister's birthday was on Friday and my nephew's birthday was a little over a week or so ago, so I treated them both for some ice cream at Sherman's ice cream in South Haven, Michigan. One of my favorite places to go get ice cream, other than House of Flavors up in Ludington, Michigan. Then today, I had a family gathering on my dad's side of the family to go to, which went pretty well. I also had a birthday party for my little sister, my two nieces, and my nephew. I did record both of those things, but that is something that I will talk about further down this post.

Second of all, in case if anybody missed my previous shorts video, I did mention that I was going to be putting together a storm documentary video of some storms that I recorded on Friday afternoon of March 6th, 2026 that produced four tornadoes here in Michigan. While obviously I didn't record any of the tornadoes, I recorded one of the storms that produced the four tornadoes. While that storm wasn't too bad where I was recording, the second storm that I recorded while on my way home from work definitely got crazy at times. I unfortunately still haven't made it over to Three Rivers to go and document some of the tornado damage in Three Rivers, which I've been meaning to, but I just haven't had the time or the money to go do so because work had been slow for the past few months and it is finally picking back up. I'm finally starting to make more cash again. I could probably drive down there next weekend if I wanted to, but I don't really want to waste a bunch of money on gas driving there because for one, I'm not too familiar with the town of Three Rivers. I don't know what all is in Three Rivers and which ways to go through that town, other than saying US 131 or Michigan 66 Highway. If I had family in Three Rivers or friends, that'd be one thing. But the only time I ever pass through Three Rivers is if I'm either passing through there to head over to Coldwater, Bronson, Sturgis, or somewhere in Indiana. If I ever do have a chance to go down to Three Rivers for anything, I will be sure to record whatever damage that I do see if there is still any in the near future, but I'm not guaranteeing anything. As far as I know, I have no plans to pass through Three Rivers anytime soon, unless if something comes up.

So as far as putting the storm documentary together of the storms I recorded and the tornado damage, I'm probably just going to go with the footage that my stepmom and my little sister sent me when they were heading to and from Coldwater/Bronson area for an auction right after the tornado was passed through. I will try and show whatever I can when I go to put the storm documentary video together, but I also want to try and be cautious of what I do as I don't want to go and take somebody else's video or go in take somebody else's photo or anything like that, unless if it is mentioned in an article or some big post that's been reposted multiple times. But I want to try and be respectful to those who originally took the photos and videos. As I understand, there's a lot of YouTube creators out there, especially a lot of the the storm chasers on YouTube, that are strict about people using their stuff. I will try and have the storm documentary video put together sometime this coming week and I plan to try and have it uploaded hopefully by Saturday if possible, depending on how my week goes because work has been kicking my butt quite a bit recently and half the time when I get home and I do a bunch of speaking on video, I have a bad habit of losing my train of thought. But I'll try and see what I can do.

Second of all, there's definitely been talk from a lot of people on YouTube that I follow that talk about weather, such as Michigan Storm Chasers, Ryan Hall, y'all, Max Velocity, And quite a few people on YouTube that I follow as far as weather reporting goes that there's supposed to be a bad storm coming through Michigan tomorrow night through early Tuesday morning. I want to try and record whatever I can of that storm, but it really depends on what time it passes through my area. There's been quite a bit of talk that it's supposed to be severe and that there may be tornadoes possible in a few areas, which I'm hoping and praying that tornadoes don't happen, but mother nature does what it wants to do which none of us can control unfortunately. But yeah, there's been quite a bit of talk about some bad storms passing through Michigan and few other areas. But if everything goes as planned, I do plan to try and record it as much as I can if possible.

Last but not least, the next big subject that I want to bring up is that I have been working on a big vlog. I started working on it in mid or late February, and I want to try and have it uploaded sometime in April. I've been kind of stretching this vlog out for quite a bit because there hasn't been a crap ton going on, other than me recording quite a bit of weather, me showing a slideshow of my cousins daughters first birthday, and a few other things. I've been working on the vlog little by little here and there. I took a break from logging in January as I wanted to take some time to give myself a break from stuff like that and just focus on weather, which was mostly snowy weather. The most notable weather videos that I will include in my big vlog. Some snowy weather that I recorded on February 20th, February 22nd, February 28th, and March 16th. My big vlog will also feature a few thunderstorms that I recorded on March 6th and March 10th. There will be quite a few other things that are featured in that vlog, but I'm not going to go down that list.

With all that being said, I apologize for the super long post, but I wanted to put this out there to kind of update my subscribers that watch my videos or anybody else who may stumble across my channel and see a video or two from me that I uploaded.

These photos that are included in this post are sneak peek photos from the big vlog that I am working on.

Hope you all have a fantastic week ahead of you. God bless you all and be safe out there.

This Facebook page (also in their twitter/x account) clearly doesn't realize that there's a lot of storm chasers from Michigan storm chasers and quite a few people had to witness some horrific devastation from both the Union City tornado and the Three Rivers tornado. I have no hate or ill will towards Chicago and Midwest storm chasers, but what they don't realize is that there's a lot of people that were chasing the storm, including people from Michigan storm chasers, that had to witness horrific devastation in Three Rivers and Union City. I watched a few videos from a few different storm chasers that were tracking either the Union City Tornado or Three Rivers tornado or both who came out and said that they were devastated by what they saw and were saddened about what had happened.

Storm chasing isn't just about who can get the closest to a tornado or who could find the best route to a tornado or what not. In fact in most cases, that's not the main subject matter with storm chasing. I don't claim myself to be an expert when it comes to storm chasing and I'm not here to say that I know everything about storm chasing because I don't have all the answers about how storm chasing works and all this and that, and I probably don't plan to ever have all that. That. As much as I am absolutely big into weather, sharing information about weather ever so often (kind of like how people are when it comes to politics, world problems, or other subjects matters like that), recording weather every chance I can, maybe chasing it if possible, and I'm not here to claim myself to be an expert at, but storm chasing isn't a main focus on who can get the closest to a tornado and who can do this or that better when it comes to storm chasing. Talking about where a tornado can happen and if one may be possible in a certain area is one thing. But sometimes, you never know what all can happen when it comes to tornadoes.

I've recorded weather on many occasions because it's something that I enjoy doing and I've been doing it for going on 12 years now because it's something that I like to do, especially when it comes to uploading it to my YouTube channel. But there have been times where I have recorded a bad storm either while on the road, at home, or somewhere else and something unexpected happened.

I'm not here to sit there and tell people how they should or shouldn't feel As that's not what I like to spend my time doing, and like I said, I have no hate, ill will, or massive judgment towards Chicago and Midwest storm chasers by any means as I do respect and support what they have done on many occasions, but this is just me voicing my opinion. I personally thought that what they posted wasn't the brightest thought in the book. we all have our fair share of judgments at times as sometimes I do as well, but it's not worth getting yourself into a bad situation, possibly getting yourself hurt or even worse, when it comes to storm chasing. There's a lot of people out there that are pretty cautious about what they're doing when it comes to storm chasing.

A few more things that I forgot to mention in my previous post on here about the tornadoes that occurred in Edwardsburg, Three Rivers, and Union City, I do want to mention that I did record the storm that did produce the tornadoes.

I didn't record any tornadoes unfortunately as I was working in Niles, but there was quite a thunderstorm that did go through Niles before it produced the three tornadoes. The storm wasn't way too severe where I was at, but there were times where it did get bad. Lots of thunder, lightning, and there was also times where the wind did pick up. It wasn't the craziest storm that I have ever recorded by any means, but there were times where it did get crazy. I didn't record too much because like I said, I was working on a house in Niles, so I wasn't able to get a whole lot of time to myself to record the storm unfortunately. But I do have videos of it and I will try and get those videos uploaded as soon as possible.

There was also another storm that I recorded later on as I was heading home from work. There were times where that storm itself got crazy. There was a time I had to pull over because the storm got pretty bad and the defroster in my truck wasn't working the best, making it hard for me to see what was ahead. So therefore, I had to pull over at one point. But I definitely did take a lot of videos of that storm. I will definitely try and get videos of that storm uploaded to my YouTube channel as soon as possible as well.

Considering that today's storms caused some pretty bad tornadoes here in Michigan, there may be a good chance that I will do a storm documentary of the storms I recorded today, just like I did for the storms that occurred on March 30th, 2025 and May 15th, 2025. I don't know when I will get to putting that storm documentary together, but it is something that I am considering doing. Because I am considering on trying to see about maybe driving over to Three Rivers after things settle down a bit to try and record what I can of. Whatever damage is left if I am not able to do that, I still will do a storm documentary video, I'll just have to go with whatever information I can find. I do have some family that are supposed to pass through Three Rivers tomorrow on their way to Bronson/Coldwater area. So I'm hoping that I can get them to take some videos or pictures and send them to me, so that way I can include that for my storm documentary video. I don't really want to use anybody else's videos because I don't want YouTube or anybody online going after me for using their stuff. I might use some photos and try and credit those that the photos came from, but I'm not going to use other people's videos, unless if I'm giving permission otherwise.

I will also try and do a live stream video sometime in the next few days to talk about today's storms and tornadoes. I would do it tonight, but I'm really not up for talking right now as I had a long day at work today. That and I want to try and make sure I gather up any accurate information that I can find before I go live. I don't go live often because I have a hard time focusing on what I'm talking about when I get comments that come in at the same time, but it is something that I'm going to try and do.

In case if anybody on here missed any of the shorts videos that I uploaded earlier today, Michigan definitely took a hit from some tornadoes today. Two of them were pretty bad. For the first tornado, as far as I'm aware, that happened in Edwardsburg, which was about 15 to 20 minutes or so from where I was working in Niles. The second one occurred in Three Rivers and I believe they said that that tornado went through a few other areas as well, possibly Mendon. And last but not least, Union City.

As far as I'm aware, I haven't heard anything major about the Edwardsburg tornado, but that is something that I am keeping my eyes on and I am trying to gather information about that tornado. There hasn't been a whole lot of information that I found about that tornado, other than pictures I've been seeing on Facebook and a few news medias that have spoken about that tornado, such as a new station out of South Bend and another news station based out of Detroit. That tornado was probably the least strongest tornado that happened out of the bunch as far as I'm aware, but that information can change as I am still trying to gather information about that tornado.

For The Three Rivers tornado, that tornado turned out to be a strong and destructive tornado as it started off right by a Menards store ripping the roof off of that store and caving in some of the walls at that store. Not to mention, it also destroyed or damaged quite a few other businesses nearby. From some of the research that I saw, I believe they said that that tornado ended up going right by Mendon as well and did some damage in that area. I'm not 100% sure on how the damage is throughout the rest of the town as most of the photos and videos I have seen about that tornado were taken on the west side of town near Menards, Meijer, Home Depot, and a few other stores and businesses in that area. From some of the speculations that I heard about that tornado, people are saying that that tornado may have been an f2 or maybe stronger.

The third tornado that took place in Michigan today is the Union City tornado. That tornado did quite a bit of damage and even knocked quite a few houses clean off of their foundations, especially near Union Lake. A tornado could be seen going right over part of Union Lake and even went through parts of Union City as well. It did quite a bit of damage to houses, flipped over cars, and many other things. From some of the research that I saw about this tornado, there were people speculating that the Union City tornado was much more stronger than the Three Rivers tornado, but others say that that is not confirmed at this time. But the Union City tornado was pretty strong and it was pretty capable of knocking homes clean off of their foundations.

As far as I know with the tornadoes that happened today, there were four people that have unfortunately lost their life and many others injured. I'm not 100% sure exactly how many people were reported injured, but as far as the casualty count goes, that number sits at 4 as of the time I type this statement.

With all that being sad, my heart absolutely aches for everybody that lost their home, their business, their job, or even a loved one from today's storms in Michigan. There were quite a few other states prior to this storm coming to Michigan where tornadoes were happening as well, but as of Michigander, my main focus right now is with Michigan, but I do feel for those in other states that have lost their life to tornadic weather recently as well. Things like this are things that I would never wish to happen to anybody. As much as I am real big into weather and watching people chase storms, it absolutely saddens me that there are people that lose their life, their homes, or anything else and weather like this. This situation is not a laughing matter and my heart absolutely aches for everybody affected by these storms. My thoughts and prayers go out to everybody affected big time and may Jesus be with those who were affected.

I want to give out a massive shout out to Michigan Storm Chasers ‪@MIStormChasers‬ , some of the local news stations, and all of our first responders that had to respond to everything that happened throughout these tornadoes occurring today.
