Hi! I'm diygemini and, as my name implies, I'm a creative gemini who loves all things DIY. Together, we'll do a little bit of everything: some beginner woodworking, thrift flips, crafts, Cricut projects, sewing, and more. Here on this channel, I want to have fun creating and show how accessible DIY can be for everyone! I find DIY very empowering and I would love for you to be able to experience that feeling of, "Wow! What if I told you, you can use art you find in museums completely for free?! The public domain is where it’s at! Several big museums and libraries (The Met, National Gallery of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Library of Congress, and more) have huge collections of art that can be downloaded all for free.
To make the welcome sign for my sister’s bridal shower, I knew I wanted a floral impressionist painting. I found this gorgeous painting by Camille Pissaro “The Artist’s Garden at Eragny” (1898) on the National Gallery of Art’s website. I then uploaded it to Canva and overlayed the text, and then got it printed at my local print shop. I also scored this beautiful gold mirror for a whopping $40 at the thrift and it was absolutely perfect for this.
