Hunter Of Artemis

Alternative methods? Reason? To Zeus's death, requested by one of my friends at work. He's been bugging me about it and I finally got the motivation to do it.

Ganymede looked at her terrified and remorseful.
"He wasn't supposed to die." he mumbled catching Athena off guard. She let go of Ganymede, letting him fall to the ground.

"What do you mean, wasn't supposed to die?" She questioned.

Ganymede stared up at her terrified of what she might do to him. "H..he wasn't supposed to die...l didn't mean for that to happen."

Athena's confusion quickly turned back to angry as she grabbed him by the neck and dragged him back to the bath house, and threw him in front of Zeus's body. Her family all stared in surprise, wondering what the fuck she was doing.

"Thea?" Hermes questioned, not really sure what to ask.

Ganymede stared at the godly kings body in horror.
"My gods..."

Athena summoned her sword and held it to the side of his neck, "Start talking, now!"

He looked around slowly at the other gods staring at him, cringing a bit at the thought of having to explain himself. "Do I really gotta say it?" He asked.

"If you want to keep breathing you will!" Athena snapped.

He sighed, sitting up on his legs facing the gods around him. "I might at slipped him a special potion that temporarily was supposed to turn him human."

"Why on earth would you do something like that!?"
Hera yelled at him, having to be held back by Hephestaus and Ares.

"Oh don't act so surprised." Ganymede said rolling his eyes. "We were all tired of the way he treated us; I was just the only one to take initiative." Yeah, no one liked that answer cause Artemis came up behind him and slapped him upside the head.

"Where did you get it?" The hunting goddess questioned

"Hecate." Ganymede answered rubbing the back of his head. "She said it would be temporary and wouldn't really hurt him. I didn't know he'd do something stupid and get himself killed less than 7 hours after I gave it to him."

"7 hours? But that...'."
Athena trialed off, hoping her
math was off and she was wrong. "How exactly did you trick father into taking this potion?"

Ganymede grimaced, realizing she connected the dots that he REALLY didn't want anyone to connect.
"Okay you really don't want me to answer that question."

None of the other gods seemed to catch on, which sucked for him. Ares walked up behind him, pulled him back by his hair and held his dagger this his throat. "Answer the fucking question!"

Ganymede actually considered death as a safer option than what he was about to admit to the entire Olympian counsel. Even worse, admitting it in front of his wife and three virgin goddesses. But he had a feeling they'd somehow find out one way or another so he just blurted it out. "I slipped it into the lube we were using, and just told him it was flavored so he wouldn't question it."

He braced himself, ready to be hit, slapped, stabbed, yelled at, killed, etc. but it didn't come. The gods all the just stared at him in a mix of shock and disgust.

Ares had loosened his grip on Ganymede, to stunned to keep the blade to his throat. Hera looked ready to kill him, and probably would have if Hephaestus and now Aphrodite wasn't holding her back. Athena was debating whether to cut his tongue out for what he just said, or stab herself in the ears so she'd never have to hear it again. Either way, the thought made her feel sick, and she turned away from Ganymede to compose herself.

"Athena please listen!" He begged. "I didn't mean for him to die! Just wanted him to feel the pin he causes us! You have to belie—" Ganymede was cut off, literally, by ares severing his head from his neck. The blood splashed against Athena's back, making her turn back to see what her brother had done

"WHAT THE ARES!?"

"The fucker defiled and killed our dad! You expect me not to kill him!?”

Olympus Rise

Chapter 7

All the gods sat in the throne room together, unsure what to say. They had called Hades and Persephone and told them what happened. Neither believed it till they saw Zeus's body. Hades was shocked when Athena told him Ganymede was partially responsible for his death.

Persephone looked at her siblings all sitting in silence, clinging to Hades arm. "So.... what happens now?" She asked breaking the silence.

"Funeral arrangements I suppose...after that, I have no idea." Athena answered, fidgeting with the ends of her hair.

"We aren't having a funeral." Hera blurted out making everyone look at her like she's lost her mind.
"We need to find a way to bring him back."

"Sister, there is now being him back." Hades told her.

"He's gone."

"He can't be gone!" Hera yelled. "Humans have been brought back to life before, why can't he!?"

"Because his life strong was cut and he was sent down to Tartarus along side father." Hades answered.

"Hera I don't want our baby brother to be dead either but he is, and we can't do anything about it."
"He was turned human, there has to be a way to bring him back!"

"If ares hadn't killed our only source then maybe we'd have more answers." Athena said glaring at Ares.

"The man killed our father! What did you want me to do, not kill him!?" Ares snapped at his sister

"Yes! Cause then we would have more answers!"

"Both of you knock it off!" Hades snapped at his niece and nephew. "Fighting isn't going to change anything."

Hermes fidgeted with his hands nervously before asking, "so I know we're all thinking it, but imma be the one to say it. With father dead, who rules Olympus now?"

The gods all looked at each other excepting an answer, but no one had one. At least not immediately.

"I am still queen of the heavens bastard." Hera answered angrily.

"Were. You were queen." Apollo said. "You only got the title through marriage so technically, you aren't queen anymore."

"How dare you—!" Hera yelled standing up to shout at him before Hades cut her off.

"He isn't wrong sister."

"No one asked you Hades!"

Hades groaned. "The next to rule would be Zeus's eldest legitimate child." The gods knew why he had to say legitimate; Zeus had WAY too many kids.

"Uhh...from which marriage?" Artemis asked.

"What?"

"From which marriage? Cause Athena is the eldest of Zuess first marriage, and Ares is the eldest of his second. Thus both are legitimate." Artemis explained, looking between her two war siblings.
Ares glared at Athena, who was too lost in thought to notice. He always hated that she wasn't a bastard.
"She has no right to the throne. Métis is no longer queen." Ares grumbled.

"Doesn't make her any less legitimate." Hephaestus argued.

Ares scoffed. "Still don't think she has any right."

"Well she does so suck it up!" Persephone snapped.

Hermes turned to Athena, "you wanna weigh in on any of this?"

Athena didn't say anything, still very lost in thought.
Hermes crumbled up a piece of paper and threw it at her, snapping her out of thought. "Earth to Athena!"

Athena looked at him confused. "What?"

"You wanna weigh in on the whole rules Olympusconvention?" Hermes asked.

Athena actually looked pissed at him for asking. "I'm trying to think about the details of father's funeral and how Hecate even made a spell that could turn him human! And all you guys are talking about is who gets the throne!?"

Hermes flinched back a bit, not used to being on the receiving end of her anger. "I mean....its not like we don't need to have the conversation."

"If you don't want the throne sister, just say so." Ares smirked, thinking he had the upper hand here.
Athena glared angrily at him; their siblings thought there might be a small war about to go on. But no, Athena just stood up and grabbed her spear. "Come up with something to decide who gets the throne. A vote, draw straws, a challenge; I don't care. I have other things to worry about and that is making sure this NEVER happens again, and preparing for the funeral. Something a real kings should be doing." And with that, she shifted into her owl form and left to find the witch goddess Hecate.

She flies down to the underworld to Hecates cave, landing at the entrance and storming in like she owned the place. Athena found Hecate in the corner of her cave, in a little reading nook she had built.
"WHAT DID YOU GIVE GANYMEDE!?!" Athena yelled at Hecate. The witch goddess barely looked up from her book when Athena yelled at her. "What are you talking about?"

"Ganymede said you gave him a potion that turned father mortal! What exactly did you give him!?" Athena yelled standing over Hecate.

"Sounds to me like you just answered your own question." Hecate replied turning the page of her book, which Athena snatched out of her hands and threw across the room.

"What EXACTLY was in that potion Hecate!?"
Hecate sighed, now annoyed with Athena. "Why do you care so badly?”

Athena hesitated for a second, not wanting to revile that Zeus was dead. "Because I want to make sure no one can easily recreate this!" Athena said, just using the first thing that came to mind.

Hecate rolled her eyes and stood up, walking over to the other side of the cave where all her witchy type stuff was. She picked up something out of a basket and threw it at Athena. She quickly caught it and realized it was a golden apple from the tree of hesperides. She stared at the apple in shock, "how did you get this?”

"I have my ways." Hecate snapped and the apple rotted in Athena's hands, making her drop it. Athena stare at her in confusion; Hecate liked when she could confuse Athena. "It's how I make the potion. I rot the apple, mix some wine to hide the flavor, a drop of water from the River Styx and boom, god is mortal."

"How did you even find a spell like that!?" Athena questioned.

"Trial and error." Hecate answered.

"Fine, how do I reverse it?"

"You don't. You just wait for it to wear off. Why are you so interested all of a sudden? Did Zeus send you?" Hecate asked.

"No he didn't. Like I told you before, I want to make sure that no one ever recreates this spell." Athena told her.

"Yeah, I don't believe you." Hecate said crossing her arms. "You keep hesitating when I ask about Zeus, your fidgeting with your armor, and your eyes are red like you've been crying. So what's going on?"

Athena didn't answer. She didn't need news of Zeus's death out yet. "I have to go.." she muttered before turning to leave. Hecate followed Athena out and grabbed her arm before she could fly away.
"What is going on with you!?" Hecate yelled. "You're fucking acting like someone died!"Athena didn't answer. She didn't need news of Zeus's death out yet. "I have to go.." she muttered before turning to leave.

Athena didn't meet her eyes, which was an absolute dead giveaway. Hecate loosened her grip on Athena's arm, staring at her in disbelief. "Holy shit is Zeus dead?!"

"I don't want to talk about this..." Athena pulled her arm out of Hecates grip and got ready to fly off.
"Athena!" Hecate yelled. "You can't bring back
Zeus!"

Athena stopped and turned to face her.
"I know you're going to try, but you can't bring him back. The potion gave him a mortal soul, so when he dies, he stays dead." Hecate told her. "I'm sorry but he's gone Athena..."

Athena didn't respond. Just turned away and flew back to Olympus to prepare for her fathers funeral

Olympus's Rise

Chapter 6

"His blood is red." Dionysus mumbled, looking at his father's corpse. The gods came out of their shook just enough to notice.

"B...but gods blood is gold!" Hermes exclaimed.
"Why is it red!?"

"Clearly cause he isn't a god anymore." Athena mumbled. She looked around the room before ripping one of the tapestry off the wall the throwing it over her dads body. Her siblings watched confused.

"What are you doing?" Apollo asked.

"Well we can't very well see how he died if we can't touch him." Athena said. "Fabric doesn't conduct electricity so safe to use it to grab him. Now either help me, or get out of the way." Athena wrapped part of the tapestry around her father's arm and started pulling him out of the water. Apollo got on the other side and helped pull him out, he then immediately threw the tapestry over his father cause he didn't feel like looking at their dad’s junk.

"I still don't see how a god can die..." Hestia mumbles her eyes still full of tears.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out." Athena said, sitting by Zeus's head and holding her hand over his head. She used her powers and pulled the last of herfather's thoughts from his mind, hoping to get a glimpse of when he died. And she was silently praying that he wasn't having another affair when he died.

Light blue mist came from Zeus had to Athena's hand, which she raised up and waved above her head so her family could see her father's memory.
The first thing they saw was Zeus about to step into the bath when he slipped on a small puddle causing him to fall backwards and hitting his head on the edge of the bath. Stunned and in pain, he unintentionally summoned lightning while in the water and electrocuted. The electricity plus the blow to the head killed him almost immediately. The image fades and the gods looked at each other confused and a bit shocked.

"Well....we know how he died." Poseidon mumbled getting slapped by Hera.

"That still doesn't explain HOW a god can die, especially from something thats his own domain." Dionysus said, staring at his dad's body.

"Someone had to have turned him mortal." Athena told him, covering Zeus corpse completely with the tapestry.

"How though?" Hermes asked.

"Idk! Did anything weird happen with father today?
Or any strange guests?"

"Father said the wine tasted strange at dinner tonight." Artemis mumbled, uncontrollable with being in the same room as her dad's body. "But other than that everything was normal."

Athena thought for a moment, before a realization came to her and she rushed out of the room, leaving her family confused. Athena quickly headed to the kitchen where Ganymede was, "what did you do!?" Athena yelled.

Ganymede turned and looked at her confused.
"What??"

Athena grabbed him by the collar of his toga and pinned him to the wall. "WHAT DID YOU DO!?" She yelled again, more angrily. Her stormy grey eyes scaring the fuck out of the poor god.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Ganymede said, his voice quivering.

"Zeus is dead!" Athena snapped. "He was somehow turned human and the only thing that was out of the ordinary today was him saying the wine tasted off. So I repeat, what did you do!?"

Ganymede looked at her terrified and remorseful.
"He wasn't supposed to die.." he mumbled catching Athena off guard. She let go of Ganymede, letting him fall to the ground.

"What do you mean, wasn't supposed to die?" She questioned.

Ganymede stared up at her terrified of what she might do to him. "H..he wasn't supposed to die...I didn't mean for that to happen."

He looked around slowly at the other gods staring at him. He sighed and answered, "I slipped a potion into his wine. It was supposed to temporarily turn him mortal for like, a week. He was never supposed to die!"

“....you're the reason our king, our father, is dead.?!"
Ares yelled.

Ganymede couldn't meet his eyes, "I just wanted him to know the feeling of being mortal. For him to know the pain he causes everyone else. It was never supposed to be permanent."

"Where did you get such a potion?" Hestia asked barely able to keep it together.

"Hecate.'

Athena lowered her sword and turned away, unable to face him anymore without wanting to kill him.
Ganymede stared up at her, "Athena please. You have to believe me! This wasn't supposed to happen!" He begged. He knew of all the gods who might spear him, it was her. "Please! You know how he was! He never cared about anyone but himse
" Ganymede was cut off bu Ares swinging his sword and cutting his head off.

Athena turned around in horror when she felt the blood splatter hit her back. She stared at her brother and Ganymedes body, his blood mixing with her father's. "What the fuck!?" Athena yelled.

"He killed father!" Ares shouted. "You can't expect me to let him live!"

Olympus's rise

Chapter 5

Hephaestus and Athena sat and talked for a few hours, before Zeus walked in, looking around to make sure Hera wasn't here. The Cyclops all huffed at him, and ignored the godly king. Zeus spotted his two crafting kids and walked up to them smiling.
"Hello you two! Hard at work I see!" Zeus smiled They both stared at him, knowing he was only hiding from his wife. "Mother isn't here." Hephaestus said, working on resetting a necklace.

Zeus sighed in relief, "good. Wait, how'd you know I'm here hiding from her?"

"Athena told me what she saw."

"Athena!?" Zeus's yelled at his daughter.

"Hey I said I wouldn't cover for you." Athena shrugged.

He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "This is why I don't tell you when I'm going out."

"Which I'm grateful for. Your sex life is gross." Athena grimaced. "And technically you never went out. You were in your bed chambers."

"Technicalities." Zeus waved her off, making both his children roll their eyes. "Anyways, this doesn't need
to be spoke about to Hera.”

Hephaestus scoffed, "typical."

"Shut up." Zeus snapped.

"Father leave and I won't tell Hera." Athena told him.
Zeus quickly waved and disappeared.

"He just fell for that?" Hephaestus questioned.

"Yep."

"Okay then."

Athena left shortly after to go bother her siblings.
Apollo and Ares were spearing in the training arena her other siblings watched. "Who's winning?" Athena asked walking up to the group.

"Apollo." Hermes said floating above the ground.

"Not surprised.”

Athena kept watching the fight, which didn't last much longer than another minute, when the group heard the sounds of Hera yelling. Hermes sighed,
"Heras back."

As if on cue, Hera stormed in and up to Athena grabbing her wrist. "Come with me!" Hera yelled pulling Athena away from her siblings who watched in confused and fear. Hera dragged Athena away into another room and threw her to the wall. "Did you know!?" Hera screamed.

"Did I know what?!"

"That Zeus was having an affair in our own room!?"

Athena didn't answer. Hera saw her hesitation and slapped her across the face. "Answer me!" Hera yelled.

"Yes I knew!" Athena replied, "I caught him earlier."

"And what, you just weren't gonna tell me!?"

"Didn't exactly feel like hunting you down."

Hera slapped her again. "You're just like your bastard siblings. Useless and annoying."

"I'm only useless to you." Athena snapped. "And like my siblings, we're tired of yours and father's bullshit.
I don't get involved for this very reason."

Hera was seething with anger. She stormed off to pick another fight with her husband leaving Athena standing there rubbing her sore cheek. "Fucking bitch." Athena mumbled, going back to her room.
She sat down at her loom and started weaving, drowning out the rest of the world for several hours.
She was so zoned out for hours that she hardly noticed when the sun had set, and was only brought out of it by the sound of a woman screaming bloody murder. Athena jumped up from her loom, ran out of her room and down the hall to the bathhouses where the scream came from.

A nymph ran out of the bathhouse screaming and ran into Athena. Athena grabbed the nymph by her shoulder and demanded answers. "What happened!? Answer me!"

The nymph could barely get any words out, just pointed to the door stuttering nonsense. Athena pushed her out of the way and froze in her tracks at what she saw. Lying in the water was her father, blood slipping from his head and turning the water bright red. His eyes were bugged out and had what looked like lightning burns all over his body. He was unconscious, unmoving, and not breathing. She stood there frozen, staring at her father's dead body, unsure how to even react.

"Athena!? What's going on!?" Apollo yelled, running into the bath house with his other siblings. "We heard screami—" they all stopped in their tracks when they saw the Zeus.

Apollo about fainted and Dionysus collapsed to his knees. Artemis had to look away, unable to bear the sight of her father's corpse. Hermes and Hephaestus both just stared, unable to process what they were seeing. Ares, well he took a more violent approach and grabbed Athena by the neck, pinning her to the wall. "WHAT DID YOU DO!?" He screamed in anger

"I didn't do anything! I found him like this!" Athena answered shoving him off her. Ares stumbled back, still fuming.

"What is all the shouting about!?" Poseidon asked, entering with his sister's. The gods just looked at them, unable to say anything. "Well?"

None of the got the chance to answer before Hestia saw the sight of Zeus in the water and let out a blood curdling scream, covering her mouth in shock and dropping to her knees. Demeter saw her brother body and immediately started sobbing in disbelief, hugging Hestia close to her. Hera was completely frozen, slight tears running down her face. Poseidon got closer to the water, reaching down to his brother before Athena grabbed his hand to stop him.

"DONT!" She yelled pulling him away. "Look at the water! It's electrified! If you touch it you'll get electrocuted too!"

"H...how did this happen..?" Demeter asked through the tears.

"I don't know...I found him like this..."

Apollo stepped a bit closer, before immediately looking away covering his eyes with his hand.
"F. from the looks of it.he hit his head and electrocuted himself."

"How is that possible?! He's immortal!" Ares shouted.

"Or was." Dionysus mumbled. "His bloods not gold.."

Hunter Of Artemis

Chapter 4

A week after the last fight Zeus and Hera had, another started up. It seemed like each day Zeus had snuck off to sleep with a different mortal and left his children to cover for him. Truth none of them knew exactly where he was so telling Hera that when she asked wasn't an entire lie. By the end of the week, Hera was fed up with getting sent on 6 different wild goose chases by her bastard step children. Her siblings didn't know where Zeus had disappeared to, nor did her children. She didn't want to waste time with the bastards so she went straight to the one goddess who didn't care enough to cover for him; Athena.

Yeah sure, she did cover for her father when it was actually needed, but when it came to his infidelity she didn't waste her time. She wasn't a fan of him cheating either, but didn't make a point to try and stop him or cover for him. Her stormed angrily around Olympus looking for Athena and grew more and more frustrated when she couldn't find her. She went up to Apollo who was writing up some new songs in his room and demanded to know where Athena is.

"She's been in Athens all day," Apollo told her. "She just got back about 30 minutes ago."

"Well where is she now!?"

"Bath house?" Apollo guessed.

Hera left Apollos room and went straight to the bath house, bursting through that doors and scaring the shit out of Athena. "WHERE IS YOUR FATHER!?"
Athena yelped in surprise, quickly grabbing a towel near the edge of the bath and wrapped it around herself. "You know there's this thing called knocking!
Might wanna try it some time!"

"Just answer the question!"

"He's in the mortal realm!" Athena answered climbing onto the edge of the bath. "Why does that require you to storm in here like you own the place!?"

"I know he's in the mortal realm but where specifically is he!?"

"How should I know!?"

"You fucking know everything!" Hera shouted towering over Athena in an attempt to be intimidating; it didn't work.

"Well I don't know this! Father didn't tell me."

"And why the fuck not!? He fucking tells you everything!"

"Cause he knows I won't cover for his ass! Now can you go away!? I'm hot and tired and just wanna take a bath in peace."

Hera scoffed and stormed off in a huff, almost running into Artemis on her way out.

"What's her problem?" Artemis asked, her hands and clothes bloody from her latest hunt.

Athena sighed, throwing the towel off and slipping back into the water. "She's looking for father again and no one knows where he is, or won't tell her."

"Oh, so same old same old."

Athena nodded, only just now noticing how bloody her sister was. "Successful hunt I presume?" Athena asked.

"Yep!" Artemis beamed. "500 pound boar!"

"Impressive. You gonna get cleaned up now?"

"Nope! I'm going back out to get the big one."

Athena raised an eyebrow, "500 pound isn't the big one?"

"Not even close! See ya sis!" Artemis waved and ran off to 'get the big one' as she put it. Athena didn't know whether to be impressed at her sister's hunting skill, or worried that she was going to get herself trampled by a possible 600+ pound angry boar.

Athena went back to relaxing in the water for a while before getting out, drying off and heading back to her chambers. Almost as soon as she walked out, she heard what sounded like a group of people doing what she prayed was sparing. Not out of the ordinary, gods fight all the time, but what caught herattention was the sound of her father's voice coming from the direction of his and Heras room.
She thought she was just hearing things, just being used to hearing Zeus's voice ring through the hall.
Athena did ponder on it for a moment, getting an idea she hoped was wrong. "He can't be that stupid.." she muttered to herself, heading towards Zeus and Heras chambers. Then closer she got, the louder the sounds got and the more she cringed. By the time she reached the door, Athena could distinctly hear the voices of Zeus, Ganymede and some other female she didn't recognize. She wanted to just walk away and pretend she never heard this, but, regretfully, knocked on the door anyway. "If you're trying not to get caught, I suggest you find somewhere better to hide!" She said loudly.

The sound of Zeus frantically trying to cover up himself and his lovers could be heard from inside.
Moments later Zeus stepped out with a sheet wrapped around his waist, "how did you know I was here?" Zeus asked

"I could hear you all the way from the bath houses." Athena told him crossing her arms across her chest.

"You could?"

"Yes."

Zeus cringed, rubbing the back of his neck nervously, not sure what to say. "You know sending Hera on a while goose chase through the mortal realm is smart, but having an affair in your own marital bed is a new low. Even for you." Athena scolded him.

"Yeah I know, just don't tell Hera." Zeus pleaded.

"If she asks I'm not covering for you. This is fucking disgusting."

Zeus shrugged, "I don't remember asking for your opinion."

"Really, cause I'll go get Hera right now."

"No no!" Zeus shouted, "no need to do that! I'm sorry, just please, keep quiet about this."

Athena rolled her eyes, "fine."

Zeus smiled triumphantly and kissed the top of her head, "thank you daughter!" He went back into his room and locked the door, leaving Athena questioning her life choices. She snapped back to reality when she sounds came back and she disappeared to Hephaestus's forge, the one place she went when trying to drown out any noise or avoid Hera. Plus, she did enjoy the conversations she had with her half-brother.

Athena knocked on the door and waited for an answer; why any of her siblings knock and walk before getting an answer she never understood.
Hephaestus called for her to enter and she stepped inside aettina hit with a wave of heat. Athena was abit more used to the heat than the other gods who avoided the forge, often training directly under Helios's rays. She walked past all the weapons and inventions he had created, many were to aid the others in whatever their domain required of them.
Hephaestus sat at his work desk, sharpening up one of Ares swords while the Cyclops worked around him.

One of the Cyclops looked down at Athena, glaring at her. They never liked any of the other gods, and frankly most of the gods didn't care for them either.
Except for Athena. Yeah ofc she didn't like ones Poseidon created, but the elder cyclops she had no bad blood with. She bowed her head to them as a show of respect, in return the Cyclopes bowed to her as well before returning to work. Hephaestus smiled when he saw her, "you know you're the only god they like other than me."

"Maybe because I'm the only other one who treats them with respect." Athena said walking up to his desk. "Ares break another sword?"

"No, just needed sharpening. He did seem in a bit of a mood today though, something about a boar."

Athena chuckled to herself, "yeah, Artemis might have killed one."

"More than one from what I heard, but good for her." Hephaestus shrugged putting the sword aside on a stand. "So, what are you doing here? Finally gonna let me fix that scrap metal you call a helmet?"

"Never gonna happen, nothings wrong with my helmet. And I'm here trying to erase what I just heard from my head." Athena grimaced, sitting on Hephaestus desk.

"Let me guess, you caught father doing something unfaithful?" Hephaestus guessed, sitting back on his work bench.

"Their marital bed." Athena cringed.

Hephaestus shook his head, "guess he took a page out of Ares book."

Athena grimaced, remembering when Ares and slept with Aphrodite in hers and Hephaestus marital bed.
"Sorry, didn't mean to open that wound."

He shrugged, "don't apologize. What's done is done."

Athena nodded. "Still, it's frankly disgusting what father is doing."

"I agree. You gonna tell Hera?"

"If she asks I will. You don't I try not to get involved with his affairs."

"She'll probably be back here at some point wondering where he is so l'll inform her." Hephaestus tells her, "if she doesn't catch him first."

Hunter Of Artemis

Chapter 3

Hera and Zeus went back to their chambers after the 'situation' they just had with Athena. Hera had wrapped her ankle up till it healed and had an ice pack on her face where Athena had hit her. She was sulking on the Divan couch in their room, drinking Nectar to heal her ankle.

Zeus couldn't be bothered to care right now. He sat on their bed, holding his chin in his hand, thinking about what his daughter said. He didn't mean to hurt Dionysus, he never intended to hurt any of his kids (epic fans go away lol).

Hera looked at her husband and glared at him. "Your daughter needs to learn some fucking manners." She mumbled sipping her nectar.

"My daughter didn't do anything wrong." Zeus argued.

"Are you kidding me!? She attacked both of us!"

"She was protecting her siblings and the mortals! I'm not going to fault her for that!" Zeus yelled at his wife.

"I don't care what she was doing! She had no right-"

"And you hand no right to strike Ganymede and yet here we are!"

Her scoffed, "that whore had it coming!"

"He's not a who—" Zeus stopped yelling and pinched the bridge of his nose sighing. "Know what, I'm not starting this fucking argument with you again." He told her, standing up and heading for the door.

"Where are you going?" Hera questioned.

"Out!" He shouted slamming the door. Zeus turned into an eagle and flew around Olympus, looking for this godly children. He found them sitting around Hestias hearth while Apollo healed Dionysus's wounds. Zeus landed a few yards away, staying as an eagle as he watched his kids conversation.
Apollo held his hand over Dionysus face, the lightning wound fading away into a small scar on his forehead.

"There. Like it never happened." Apollo said sitting on the ground beside Artemis. Beside her was Athena who was cleaning the blood off her sword, than Hermes who was relaxing back munching on some grapes. Hephaestus sat beside Dionysus, tinkering with some new invention he came up with.

"Thanks brother." Dionysus thanked Apollo.

"Don't mention it."

"Also, Thea, that was fucking badass!" Hermes said still very excited at getting to watch his sister humiliate their dad and step mom. "Didn't know you were actually gonna strike them!"

"They had it coming." Athena muttered, not seeing what he was so excited about.

"I agree," Dionysus spoke, "it was very cool, if not a bit scary, to watch. And uh..thanks for sticking up for me."

"You're welcome."

"Can we all agree that Theas the only one who can get away with that and live?" Apollo asked, taking a sip of wine that he stole from Hermes.

"Agreed." All the gods said, getting a small glare from Athena. It was known, pretty much everywhere, that Athena was the favorite of Zeus's but she didn't like when people brought it up. Why, they didnt know, so most gods kept bringing it up even if it annoyed her.

"Think Hera will try anything for revenge?" Hermes asked.

"Doubt it." Hephaestus replied. "Mother may try but father won't let her do anything to his favorite girl."
"Can you stop calling me that?" Athena snapped at her half-brother.

Hephaestus shrugged, going back to his inventions.
"Well if Hera won't, I know one dumbass who will." Artemis said, restringing her bow.

None of the others got to ask who she meant beforethey heard the loud yelling of their half brother. "ATHENA!!!"

"Speak of the devil."

Ares, Zeus's eldest son, stormed up to the group, his swords in hands looking like he was ready for a fight.

Athena's siblings all turned to look at him, though Athena herself didn't. She just rolled her eyes and kept her focus on her sword.

"Hey jackass!" Hermes waved.

"What the fuck did you do!?" Ares screamed at his sister, ignoring Hermes.

"I don't know what you mean." Athena said boredly.

"You know exactly what I mean!! Why the hell did you hurt my mother!?" Ares demanded to know standing right behind his sister.

Athena sighed, "why bother asking when you clearly already know?" She asked still keeping her back to him.

Ares stormed around the group until he was standing in front of Athena, "Because I want to know where you think you had any right to hurt her!?"

"If it makes ya feel any better, she stabbed dad too." Hermes added to the conversation, getting hit upside the head by Artemis.

"It doesn't, bastard! Now answer the question Athena!"

Athena barley looked up at him, frankly annoyed witi his attitude. "Your mother had struck Ganymede, go in a fight with father which led him to create aggressive storms that killed dozens of mortals and got Dionysus hurt. Striking them was the only way to get them to quit. Now if you don't mind, l'd like for your parents blood to not stain my sword." She went back to cleaning her sword, which infuriated Ares.

"Where do you get off thinking you can act however you please!?"

"Where do you get off to starting random fights with your sister?"

Fed up with Athena, Ares ripped the sword out of her hand and grabbed her by the throat, throwing her across the room. She hit the wall hard, not hard enough to knock her out. Ares went to try and continue attacking, but seemed to forget that he was standing in the middle of his siblings, who were just as protective of Athena as she was to them.
Artemis drew her hunting knife and cut the back of Ares legs, knocking him to his knees. Apollo punched him hard in the face, sending him to the other side of the room. Hermes flew over to make sure Athena was ok, while Dionysus wrapped grapes vines around Ares, immobilizing him so the others could use him as a living punching bag.
"You okay sis?" Hermes asked pulling Athena to her feet.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She groaned. "I've been in worse fights with Artemis's dogs."

Hermes laughed at what he was hoping was a joke.
His smiled did quickly fade when ares opened his mouth. "Let me down you bastards!"

"Not gonna happen." Dionysus said. "You fucked with one of us, now you gotta fuck with all of us."
Artemis and Apollo drew their bows, aiming their silver arrows at Ares. Hermes hand summoned a sword to his hand, and Hephaestus summoned his metal working hammer to his. Athena was ready to draw hers when a stuck of lightning shot between ares and the group, Zeus appearing in between them.

"ENOUGH!" He shouted angrily. He snapped and the vines holding Ares disappeared dropping him to the ground. The gods stepped back from their father, lowering their weapons, all but Athena, who stepped forward hoping to keep her siblings safely behind her. They had already been hurt once today by their father, she wasn't going to let it happen again.
Zeus looked down at ares, "did your mother send you?!"

"No." Ares groaned, sitting up. "She told me what happened and I came to defend her."

"If that what you were doing?" Zeus questioned. "To me it looked like you were unfairly fighting with your sister."

"Unfairly!? You don't even care that she attacked Mother and you!" Ares screamed at his father.

"She did what she had to!" Apollo yelled. Zeus held his hand up, giving his son the hint to be quiet.

"Go back to Hera, Ares. I'll deal with you later." Zeus ordered.

Ares glared at his father, then at Athena. "This isn't over." He teleported away to Hera as Zeus had ordered, leaving his bastard siblings and father still standing there.

"All of you go back to your domains/chambers." Zeus ordered, "there's been enough fighting for one day."

The gods looked at Athena, as if asking for her permission. She nodded to them and they all left. The action did not go unnoticed by Zeus. It wasn't the first time he had told his godly children what to do and they looked to Athena instead of immediately obeying. Athena turned to go back to her own room when Zeus stopped her. "Why do they do that?" He asked.

"Do what?" Athena questioned.

"Look to you when I tell them to do something." Athena shrugged, "don't know. Maybe ask them."
"You don't think it's the slightest bit odd that they look to you instead of immediately following the orders of their king?"

Once again, Athena shrugged. "Guess they trust me more." She replied, walking off to her room without giving Zeus another chance to speak.

Truth be told, Athena never paid much attention to it.
Sure she noticed, but her siblings had done that since they were little so it never crossed her mind.
Artemis and Apollo did it when they first came to Olympus, unsure whether they could trust their father but knew they could trust their older sister.
Hermes used to look to her when Hera told him to go do something and would only go if he got a nod from Athena. Dionysus was an adult when he came to Olympus but still looked to any of his older siblings as if asking permission when Zeus or Hera had ordered him to go do anything.

The more she thought about it, the more it did seem a bit strange that even as adults they still looked to her. Sure when they were kids it made sense, most her practically attached to her hip and were weary of their Father. Maybe it was just habit for them and never grew out of it. Whatever the case, Athena didn't know and didn't really want to think about anymore. She was tired and just wanted some sleep.
Once in her room, Athena shed her armor and weapons. Changing out of her chiton and slipping into the soft sheet of her bed, she quickly drifted off to sleep, hoping the next day would be better than today.

Hunter Of Artemis

Chapter 2

Athena shifted her form into an owl and flew off to Delos, in hopes to spend some time with the twins, Artemis and Apollo. She often spent more time with Artemis than Apollo, mostly due to them have a bit more in common, but did enjoy seeing her younger brother. Athena flew and landed on the shores of Delos where the twins were practicing their archery on a dummy that looked a bit to much like Hera.
Artemis was first to noticed her older sister when she shifted back into her normal form a few feet away from them.

"Athena!" Artemis cheered dropped her bow and running up to her sister, hugging her. Apollo smiled and waved at her. "Hi sister!"

"Hey you two!" Athena smiled hugging Artemis.

"I see you're also avoiding Olympus." Apollo joked, firing another arrow at the practice dummy.

"Are you surprised?" Athena asked walking up to him.

"Not really."

"What surprised us is that you're not in Athens." Artemis said picking her bow back up off the ground. "You normally tend to hide out there when avoiding father."

"Yeah well, I decided l'd rather spend time with the two of you." Athena told him. She looked at the dummy they were shooting at her chuckled. "A but life like isn't it?"

The twins smiled mischievously, "yeah, that's the point." Apollo said firing at the dummies head.

"Mother made it so we could take our angry out on it and not get in trouble." Artemis explained

"Well I can't say it's a bad idea." Athena smiled.

"You shout try it sister! It's very therapeutic." Artemis said offering Athena her bow.

Athena shook her head at the offer, summoning a dagger into her hand and throwing it at the Hera like dummy. The dagger hit the dummy square between the eyes.

"Oh that is fun." Athena muttered grinning to herself.

"Told you!" The twins laughed.

The three of them kept torturing the Hera dummy till it started storming, giving them the hint that it was time to quit. They all bolted inside the cave Leto used as a home, laughing like little kids as they ran inside soaking wet. Athena turned into her owl form and shook the water off herself, much to Apollos annoyance and Artemis's amusement.

"You know, there's the things called towels, maybe try using them." Apollo told her, dropping a towel onto her.

Athena turned back to her normal form and threw the towel back at him, her hair still a bit damp. "Yeah but doing it that way works better for me.” She teased.

Apollo rolled his eyes, "you're as bad as Ares when he turns into a dog to dry off."

"At least I don't get water everywhere like he does."

"Yeah well—" He was cut off by Artemis through a different towel at his head.

"Are you two done fighting yet?" Artemis asked laughing at her siblings.

"We aren't fight, more like, playful bantering." Athena told her smirking.

The 3 gods stayed in the cave waiting for the rain to stop, not cause the rain was actually a problem for fucking gods, but cause it meant their dad was in a mood and they didn't want to deal with it. Sadly, their plan to hide out till the storm ended didn't exactly work out. Zeus's storm had escalated to a point where dozens of mortals were drowning, cities were flooding and a punch of people were getting struck by lightning.

Athena stood at the caves entrance, watching the storm get worse by the minute, her siblings walking up behind her. "Father is going to kill everyone if he keeps this up."

"Wouldn't be the first time." Apollo muttered under his breath. Artemis elbowed him in the ribs for his unhelpful comment. "Should we head back?" Artemis asked.

Athena didn't get a chance to answer before Hermes flew up to them at his top speed. "We need you guys back on Olympus." Hermes panted sounding panicked. "Things have gotten out of hand."

"No shit." Apollo commented, getting elbowed in the ribs again by Artemis.

"Dionysus is hurt. He tried to get in the middle oftheir fight.” Hermes told them.

Rage built in Athena. First they hurt Ganymede, then the mortals, and now her baby brother. "Where is he?" Athena asked, voice filled with rage.

"Just outside the throne room with Ganymede and Hephaestus." She didn't wait for her other siblings before flying off toward Olympus. Once on the mountain, Athena went straight for her little brother.
One to check on him, and two to know just how mad she needed to be. The 3 gods sat outside the entrance to the throne room, lighting and chaos coming from within the room. Though Athena paid it no attention, just focused on Dionysus.

"What happened?!" She demanded to know storming up to her siblings.

"Athena!?" Dionysus and Hephaestus looked up at her in surprise. Dionysus immediately put his head down and covered his arm so she wouldn't see the wounds.

"I said what happened!?" She asked again standing over them.

"tried to break up the fight," Dionysus told her, his voice low and almost ashamed. "It didn't work."
"What did they do to you?"

None of the gods answered, which was not the right thing to do cause it just pissed her off. "What. Did.
They. Do!?" She yelled this time instead of calmly asking.

Dionysus hesitated, but eventually looked up and showed Athena a massive lightning strike across his face and down him arm. "The lightning got to me..."
Athena's eyes flashed with rage, "oh this ends now!" She summoned her shield and stormed into the throne room where her father and Hera where arguing. Her other siblings arrived just in time to see what they thought was their sister losing her mind.
Lighting was striking all around the room, winds blowing like a hurricane. Athena held her shield in front of her to avoid getting hit, and to get closer to the two angry gods. Most wouldnt dare come near either of them when they were angry, and most were smart. But right now Athena didn't care, she was just as angry. Her siblings watched from the entryway fearing for their eldest sister's life. Good news for her, Zeus and Hera were so caught up in the fight that they didn't notice Athena coming up to them. Bad news for them, they didn't notice her so they didn't have a chance to react when Athena came up behind Hera and cut her Achilles tendon with her sword, and hit her upside the head with her shield. Hera fell to the ground screaming, holding her ankle in pain.

Zeus didn't get a chance to react either because by the time he realized what happened, Athena had already cut his leg with her sword and hit him in the face with the edge of her shield. The two gods looked up at her completely baffled and confused as to what just happened. Her siblings were just as surprised, and weren't sure who they needed to be more afraid Athena stood over the two gods, golden blood dripping from her sword. Her strong gray eyes almost seemed to flash with lightning, show just how pissed she was. Though, Zeus didn't seem to care cause he started yelling at her. "What in Olympus's name do you think you are doing!?"

"I believe I'm stopping you two idiots from hurting or killing anyone else!" Athena yelled at her father, also not caring if he was mad; guess it's genetic.

"What are you talking about!? And how dare you strike the king and queen of the heav—" Athena cut Heras yelling off by pointing her sword to the goddesses throat.

"One more word and we will learn if a god can actually bleed to death." Athena threatened. "As for your question, you've already hurt Ganymede, father's storms have taken the lives of SEVERAL mortals, and Dionysus was injured during his attempt to end this fight. I'm putting a stop to ALL of it!"

Hera looked about ready to snap Athena's neck, Zeus, honestly looked kinda guilty. He waved his hand and stopped the storms and floods in the mortal realm, as well as the one in the throne room.
He stood up and looked at the doorway where most of his kids were watching the shit show that just went down.

"Athena lower your sword, now." Zeus ordered.
She didn't want to, but did anyway. Putting her sword back in its holster and making her shield disappear. She still glared at her father and step-mother/queen. "These arguments are getting out of hand. You'll end up killing one of your children one of this days." Athena snarled at them.

“His children are immortal.” Hera snapped. “And that still doesn’t give you the right to speak to your king and queen in such a manner.”

“Maybe start acting like a true queen and than ill start treating you like one. Till that happens you are both just the two gods who are pissing me off, and I have to protect my siblings from.” Athena argued before walking off, her godly siblings following after her.
