Welcome to ODT's new members and welcome back to rejoining members. The membership group will soon look a bit like this crowd at the opening of Yarraman railway station in 1913!
As a one man band, it's not easy to keep up a cracking pace, especially with long-form videos. This hot hot hot and dry summer is a good time to stay cool in the 'lab' and do the research and writing. I'm working on all the videos planned so far for 2026. Hope to see you out there sometime soon when it's cooler and greener!
@adnoorak and @southaustraliansteamlocomo3140 are quite simply the best YouTube channels I have ever seen for historic footage of South Australia's railway history. Go check them out!
Mission accomplished. I've covered every single old SAR railway line (except for the stretch from Marree to Oodnadatta). I'll cover that in mid 2026.
There'll be some NSW and Victorian lines this year as we head into Autumn/Winter.
In the meantime, it's time to revisit a few of my first videos and re-cast them through a more experienced lens, apply all the techniques I've learned, and leverage the resources I have now.
I'll make both, but which one do you want to see first?
Last time I caught up with JK was in Hay. JK has been on the channel since the beginning, so it was good to catch up and have a wander around the NRM and the docks. Cheers!
The latest poll is closed! I need time to prepare a great show! The winner is 'Railway Archaeology' @ Willunga (51% of 41 votes). See you live on the channel at Willunga on Wednesday night at 8:15pm for a look at the remains of the railways.
What would you like to see on Good Chats 163 next week as we go live at one of these locations? Channel members and subscribers are invited to come down and join in!
