Progressive Metalcore from Gothenburg, Sweden

What began as a solo project by vocalist and guitarist Jonathan Thorpenberg has evolved into a full-fledged band. Following the success of their 2023 debut EP, Demons Within, VEMØD released their second EP, Burden, on March 28, 2025.

The band’s name evokes a sense of melancholy and sorrow - emotions deeply ingrained in Scandinavian music and culture. Their lyrics explore themes of anxiety, grief, anger, and loneliness, mirrored in their dark, atmospheric sound and theatrical intensity.
