UPSC Back Benchers

To all my warriors returning from the UPSC battlefield — bruised, battered, and bleeding — this is for you.You owe no explanations. You fought. That’s enough.
Now, it’s time to retreat — not in defeat, but in strategy.Go into hibernation, silently and intentionally. Let the world wonder. Save your energy.
Heal. Reflect. Rebuild.
And when you return, let your actions speak louder than your struggle.I’ll be waiting for you on the other side — stronger, sharper, and ready.

UPSC Back Benchers

Dear Aspirants,

Prelims 2025 was an eye-opener — a much-needed wake-up call for many.

Yes, the paper was tough. But let’s be honest — it wasn’t unmanageable.
If you could answer around 60 questions in GS accurately and clear the CSAT (which remains qualifying), you stood a chance.

But to do that, you needed to study in an integrated manner — connecting static subjects with one year’s worth of current affairs. That’s what UPSC expects now.

Joining a test series doesn't mean your job is done.
Being successful is your responsibility.
And equally, facing failure is your ethical responsibility.

Why do I say that?

Because when you fail, it's not just your personal expectations that suffer.
Your family and your loved ones bear that weight too. They’re not just bystanders; they’re co-dreamers. They deserve your accountability, too.

Let’s move forward not with regret, but with responsibility.
Own your preparation. Own your outcomes.

The next attempt begins today.

With Warm Regards
Shashank Shekha Roy

UPSC Back Benchers

I couldn't sleep last night. Why?

Because after every UPSC Prelims and Final Merit list, I feel the pain of rejection all over again.

Last night, a childhood friend reminded me of my failure. I don’t know why he was trying to hurt me so much. He asked, “Can you tell me how many students you’ve mentored who have qualified for UPSC?”

I replied, “None.” And then, he ridiculed me again.

I told him, “An outsider can never understand the pain and trauma of a UPSC aspirant.” But he was high last night.
I kept listening...

Because sometimes, you need a rude shock to come out of your slumber. Sometimes, you have to internalize your anger to grow bigger and do better things in life.

That question haunted me through the night, and it still haunts me as I type this message.

This message is not just for me. It’s for all those students of mine who have returned from the battlefield — bruised, battered, wounded, scarred — and are now gathering strength for another battle.

I will never judge you by whether you passed or failed. I will judge you by your efforts.

Never hesitate to reach out to me when you need a shoulder to cry on.

I am a wounded healer.

Stay blessed, all.
