In 1999 (96 in Japan) Pokemon dived into the world of Pop Culture feet first - it capitavated fans with their characters and story telling, and in the card collecting world the allure of the hunt for rare pokemon began!
1st edition Base Set was introduced in a small print run before Unlimited edition Base Set followed shortly after
The coveted card - 1st edition Charizard went for $120 at the time and today its about $300,000 in a PSA 10
Who would have thought that these funny looking characters would catch us all overtime and have us talking about them daily, decades later?
