I would like to request advice from my subscribers as I have been reprimanded by Youtube.

In spite of the fact that I have only recently received monetisation status, Youtube has now decided that my channel contains "Inauthentic content" and that I am not eligible to receive monetisation because of this. Full disclosure: I have received one payment from Youtube which amounted to ZAR 965.78, which is approximately USD 61. This was a single payment on 2026-01-23.

They motivated their decision by saying that "Content appears mass-produced or repetitive to increase views without adding significant educational or other value."

I have published shorts, explainer videos and deep dives on various articles and chapters to address novices, interested individuals and experts. These videos were based on published articles and book chapters, in other words credible resources. I have made use of NotebookLM to create these videos and podcasts.

I have also created and published surgical videos, informed consent videos, live explainer videos, etc.

My question to my subscribers: should I continue creating these videos? Please add a comment if you have received any educational benefit from any of these videos. If you have any other criticism, please do not hesitate. Now is your chance. Life is too short to waste time on this project if it is "inauthentic" and "repetitive".

Full series of "Vascular Disease for Patients" now completed. These videos were created with NotebookLM from the Rutherford's Vascular Surgery as source material.

Please feel free to make suggestions or recommendations regarding the content thereof. The quest for zero defect is the ultimate goal, but medical education fro patients is still far from perfect.
