Even after all these years, I still hold so many of the Octopath stories from the first game close to my heart. H’aanit’s begrudgingly loving story of found family and mentorship, told through her long journey of following in her master’s footsteps before finally emerging from his shadow and coming into her own, is one that has forever remained very, very dear to me. I reread all her travel and tavern banters while editing the photos from our shoot and this quote from her banter with Olberic after slaying the dragon brought me right back to the glowing, bittersweet warmth of that moment in the game. It’s truly one of those works that I wish I could experience for the first time all over again.

Also reminded me how much I loved H’aanit shipped with both Primrose and Ophilia LMFAAOOO I’m truly in my yuri era

H’aanit is the first cosplay I’ve made basically from scratch since my high school years, and it was SO worth it to get to relive some of those early cosplay community vibes of a group of friends scraping together materials last minute to cosplay a niche favorite together. It’s a special feeling that’s hard to find in big ol 2026 tbh. I got kinda emotional looking at everyone in their cosplays standing amongst the redwoods while I had the woodlands OST playing in the back. Utterly magical 🥹
