Episode 6 introduces the first Void Raider to OteoLand, and there is a reason I wanted Drifty Fog to arrive first.
Drifty Fog represents something very familiar to kids... losing focus.
You start putting away your toys, but suddenly one toy needs to be played with. 😄
You’re getting your shoes on, but something interesting catches your eye.
You’re working on something and... wait. What was I doing?
That’s Drifty Fog.
I didn’t want children to see those moments as failures. Getting distracted happens. What matters is learning to notice it, remember what you were doing, and come back to it.

That’s why our explorers learn:
⭐ STOP
⭐ THINK
⭐ REMEMBER
⭐ SMILE
And then... keep going.

Drifty Fog turns an invisible idea into a funny character children can recognize. Maybe someday a child will catch themselves wandering away from a task and think, “Drifty Fog got me!” 🌫️😂

What if a fantasy world could change the way a child sees the real one?

That question is behind a new OteoLand series I’ve been developing:

📦 I Mailed Myself to OteoLand

The idea is simple.

Max is a curious kid from Earth who loves exploring things that are completely new to him. He climbs into his magical cardboard box, mails himself to OteoLand, and never knows where he will land.

His first new adventure on the OteoLand channel is The Snail School Bus. 🐌🚌

Max arrives in Wiggleway Meadow and discovers something wonderfully ridiculous: a school bus that is actually a giant snail, traveling along sparkling slime roads.

At first, Max sees the slime the way many children probably would:

“Ewww!”

But the adventure gives him a reason to look closer.

He discovers that a snail’s mucus isn’t simply something sticky or strange. It helps the snail glide and protects its soft body as it travels across surfaces.

Then Max returns to Earth.

He sees an ordinary garden snail.

But now he sees it differently.

And that is really what this new series is about.

OteoLand Adventures | Season 1 introduces children to the characters, landmarks, challenges, and world of OteoLand.

I Mailed Myself to OteoLand turns the perspective around.

We experience OteoLand through Max, a child from our world.

He encounters something extraordinary, asks questions, discovers why it works, and comes home with a little more understanding of something ordinary.

Fantasy → Curiosity → Discovery → Real World.

I love the idea that a child might watch a cartoon about a ridiculous snail school bus today... and stop to look more carefully at a tiny snail in the garden tomorrow.

Because perhaps imagination doesn't have to take children away from the real world.

Sometimes it can send them back to it with better eyes. 🌎✨

And Max has a lot more of OteoLand left to discover.

🎒 Celebrating Back-to-School Season, the Oteogo Way

Back-to-school usually brings conversations about new classrooms, new supplies, new routines, and new learning goals.

At Oteogo, we add one more thing to the list:

Movement. 👟

Children spend a significant part of their day sitting, whether they're in the classroom, doing homework, or using technology. So I keep coming back to a question that has shaped Oteogo from the beginning:

What if screen time could ask children to move instead of asking them to sit still?

That's the idea behind the Oteogo App.

Using Augmented Reality and word-to-image matching inspired by the familiar I SPY concept, children search, move, zoom in and out, identify images, and tap the correct match.

And movement becomes measurable.

For our Back-to-School video, “The Teacher Who Needed a Movement Break,” we demonstrate that idea through ScholarSearch. A teacher turns a classroom reset into a vocabulary and movement challenge, then compares the students' step results.

But Oteogo isn't only for educators.

Parents can use the same idea when children need a reset at home. A few minutes of purposeful movement can turn the device from something children simply watch into something that asks them to participate.

That's an important distinction for me.

I don't believe the conversation should always be:

“Screen or no screen?”

There is another question worth exploring:

“What is the screen asking the child to do?”

Watch?
Or participate?

At Oteogo, we're exploring the second.
