It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to James Carter Cathcart — a man whose voice brought to life some of the most iconic characters in Pokémon history. From the sarcastic brilliance of Meowth to the passionate fire of James from Team Rocket, and the wisdom of Professor Oak, his work wasn’t just acting — it was magic. He was the soundtrack of Saturday mornings, the energy behind some of the most unforgettable lines, and the voice that helped shape the world we grew up in.
For me and millions of others, his characters were more than entertainment — they were friends, mentors, and memories. Whether it was watching Ash take on the Pokémon League, laughing at Team Rocket’s antics, or learning something new from Professor Oak, his performances were with us every step of the way. He gave our childhoods color, character, and heart — and for that, we’ll forever be grateful.
James Carter Cathcart’s legacy will live on in every Poké Ball thrown, every “Team Rocket’s blasting off again,” and every new generation that discovers the world of Pokémon. He may have left this world, but his voice will echo in our memories forever. Thank you, James — you truly were a legend.
