I regret a lot of things over the years of my own journey.. and here are a few.

It’s taken years to overcome my eating disorder, work through my body dysmorphia. It’ll never be easy, it’ll always be work. But it’ll always be worth it to realize how far I have gotten. I could still be 400lbs.. but I’m not. I am consistent, I put in work, and I take care of my body, every single day.

FOUR Reasons Why You Aren’t Hitting Your Fitness Goals ❗️

📍You don’t set boundaries for yourself.
You might think.. setting boundaries? Yeah.. like setting a bed time/wake up time? Taking one hour out of your day to schedule in some kind of activity. Letting people know what you are doing so they can support you. Not feeling guilty when you take “me” time. Anything. Scheduling, setting boundaries with yourself, will help you be successful. Sometimes even your own self can sabotage yourself.

📍 Setting unrealistic goals
Let’s be real.. you won’t be the weight you were in high school. You won’t look the same after kids. Hormones change. Lives change. Puberty etc. setting goals that are unrealistic will lead you to fail. Getting to a certain weight and having a number stick in your head, will drive you nuts. Trying to workout 7 days a week? Not healthy. Only eating chicken, veggies and rice? Sounds like a disaster.
Start small.. focus on nailing your workouts first. Focus on getting 10,000 steps a day. Then slowly change your food. Then everything else will fall into place.

📍 Binge eating

Sigh.. I’ve been there. It’s tough. You restrict yourself so much, that you go off the deep end. You have a “cheat meal” or “cheat day” mentality. Cheat meals/ days can ruin your entire progress for the week. I’m not saying to not indulge.. I’m saying, do it in moderation. Make smarter choices. Cut out the drink, don’t go for the appetizer, maybe share the meal? Sub out things. Put sauces on the side. There are so many things you can do, so you can enjoy going out. Don’t restrict yourself.. just make sure you are aware of your choices.

📍Not taking responsibility for your own choices.
You have kids, life, animals, job, etc… but guess what, we all do? The reality is.. you have a choice. You choose to make time to workout. You choose the food you put into your mouth.. no one is force feeding you. You choose not to go to bed on time. Everything is a choice. Now I get it, life does happen.. but end of the day, you can’t always blame others for why you can’t do something. You can, you just have to adjust.
