Perhaps a perfect example of bigger bit rates taking A LOT more time to render.. video is finally reuploaded, time to relax: https://youtu.be/JFw5AhYQbtY
BIT RATES! Do they even matter? There are hardly any videos about this so I made one. Btw THIS IS NOT an 8 bit vs 10 bit issue (that's color depth). Bit rates are the sheer amount of info the camera is taking in per second.
When the G7 or G85 were my main cameras, I never cared because there were hardly had any options. But having used a GH5 for the last 6 months and being flooded with so many bit rate options, I needed to find a consistent workflow so I tried to find the best options for me. The whole process gave me a new perspective on how to use the GX9 as a b camera and also, how to best use the GH5 without obliterating my hard drives!
I'm not an expert in this field however this video is a little technical, and if you're not into that skip it, but it will definitely help in using your camera better and perhaps give some ideas about what to look for in your next camera.
Another way to look at this is: is it worth paying the extra cash for the extra mb/s?
Short answer- yes, but it's not that simple! Vid dropping this week, stay tuned!
Glad to be talking about lenses again! The Panasonic 25mm 1.7 is one of the most versatile lenses in the system and is featured in my next vid- it goes live in an hour! 'The best m43 lenses for video is the topic of the day!
If you liked the last video about camera bodies, don’t miss out on what’s more important- lenses! Dropping Thursday 8am Eastern Time (that’s New York time for those not in the States)! https://youtu.be/e7i5B_5CMOI
I’ve had some messages and comments about how the em1iii wasn’t in my last video, and that it’s video features are good. Actually, that’s true! Here’s the catch though- there aren’t any bad cameras out there anymore, there’s only good and better. And in video, the G9 is just better! Want to see a test between them in real world situations? You’re in luck, camera conspiracies just made a video about it, go see for yourself: https://youtu.be/J0OYAjPW8PI
Scrolling through that b and h and amazon rabbit hole got me thinking- what cameras are best in the m43 system in 2020?? Brewing up a list in the form of video! It airs on Thursday lookin forward to seeing you there!
