I’ve always believed that the right book at the right time can change the way you see the world. At least that’s what they’ve done for me.
For my new podcast from Higher Ground and Audible, A Great Book with Barack Obama, I chose six books that have stayed with me over the years and invited a few friends who have their own connections to these stories. We talked about everything from faith and fatherhood to race, power, friendship, and what it means to grow up. More than anything, these conversations reminded me why I love reading in the first place — and I hope they do the same for you.
Check out A Great Book available now only on Audible.

The arguments we’re having today aren’t new. In fact, we were having many of the same ones more than 150 years ago during Reconstruction.
As we reflect on America’s 250th anniversary, Malcolm Gladwell and I got together to discuss this pivotal time in our nation’s history, and the work that remains.
Check out our conversation, and make sure to listen to Malcolm’s podcast, Reconstruction: The Unfinished Promise.
Today, Michelle and I are proud to announce that we will be hosting the dedication ceremony for the Obama Presidential Center on June 18th in Chicago, and welcoming the public on June 19th.
