The US Dietary guidelines, Nutrition and Your Health: Dietary Guidelines for Americans, were first published in 1980. Sadly since then, US health has mostly declined. As you can see in the charts below taken directly from the CDC's website, in both males and females, obesity has dramatically increased since those guidelines were published.

These guidelines are updated every 5 years, allegedly following new research and information. Unfortunately, that's not true. These committees are largely made up of industry players that have a vested interest in recommendations pushing you to buy their refined foods. There's no money in everyone being healthy, so their whole agenda is to keep you addicted to refined grains and sugars, on medications, and keeping medical establishments full.

If you want a different outcome, you have to be willing to go a different way.
